In an example, a method of curing images on a substrate comprises identifying the substrate, determining a deformation temperature of the substrate based on the identifying, calculating a parameter for curing images on the substrate based on the deformation temperature and a thickness of the substrate using a fuzzy logic algorithm, and causing a printing apparatus to cure the images on the substrate based on the parameter.

Determining a parameter for curing images

A printing device is described. The printing device comprises a fluid flow generator to cause a heating fluid to flow towards a curing zone that is downstream of a print zone in terms of an advance direction of the print medium. The printing device comprises an impingement device arranged upstream of the curing zone in terms of the heating fluid flow. The impingement device is to modify a flow rate of the heating fluid towards the curing zone along the advance direction.

Printing on rigid and flexible print media

Adaptative substrate curing by ejecting a curing flow rate to a curing zone by: heating a heating fluid to a curing temperature; causing the heating fluid to flow along a plurality of serially connected chambers separated being each pair of chambers separated by a heating fluid restrictor, actuating on the heating fluid restrictor as to determine a restricted flow rate between adjacent chambers thereby defining a curing flow rate that passes from the chambers towards the curing zone.

Adaptative curing

In an example, a method includes receiving print data indicative of an image to be printed on a substrate. The print data may indicate an image portion in which an image is present and a void portion in which the image is absent. An amount of background print agent to be applied to a region of the substrate corresponding to the locations of the image portion and the void portion on the substrate when the image is printed may be determined. In examples, the amount of background print agent determined to be applied to a region of the substrate corresponding to the location of the void portion on the substrate when the image is printed is greater than the amount of a background print agent to be applied to the region of the substrate corresponding to the location of the image portion on the substrate when the image is printed.
