A display system includes a network video transmitter with a video input, being placed in a minimalist chassis system, and communicatively connected to a power supply of the minimalist chassis system located in a secure area (SA). A network video receiver with a video output is located in a public area (PA), and communicatively connected to a display device. A network cable connects the network video transmitter to the network video receiver. The network cable transmits the video signal from the network video transmitter to the network video receiver and transmits power between the network video transmitter and the network video receiver, and the network cable has power conductors capable of carrying the power. The power supply is configured to provide power to both the network video transmitter and the network video receiver, and no power supply is required in the PA.

A video card is disclosed. The video card includes a PCI card, an MXM connector and a LAN converter. The mobile PCI express module ('MXM') connector is mounted on the PCI card and adapted to physically receive an MXM card having a GPU and to electronically receive a video signal from the GPU. The local area network video converter is mounted on the PCI card for receiving the video signal from the MXM connector and for converting the video signal to a signal suitable for transmission on a local area network ('LAN') cable.

System for implementing MXM on a PCI card

A display system for connecting a computer to a display having EDID information. The display system includes a graphics card and an adapter. The graphics card is in communication with the computer and includes: a graphics processor; a graphics card controller coupled to the graphics processor; and a memory coupled to the graphics card controller and the graphics processor. The adapter has an adapter controller, the adapter coupled to the display and coupled to the graphics card, wherein the graphics card controller is configured to query the EDID information from the display and store the EDID information as emulated EDID information in the memory and further wherein the graphics processor reads the emulated EDID information from the memory rather than from the display.
