A system for dispensing a dental material comprises a cartridge from which the dental material is extrudable. The cartridge comprises a operating means and an interface for transmitting a cartridge output based on a user input. The system further has a dental dispensing device having a receptacle for receiving the cartridge and an interface for receiving the cartridge output. The system helps maximizing reliability and maximizing safety in operation for dispensing dental material.

System and device for dispensing a dental material and a cartridge for use with the system or device

A device for dispensing a dental material comprises a compartment for the dental material, a piston for extruding the dental material from the compartment, and a spindle drive for moving the piston and the compartment relative to one another. The spindle drive comprises first and second threads which are operable for moving the piston. The first thread has a first pitch and the second thread has a different second pitch. In one embodiment, the invention may provide a relatively inexpensive and reliable dental dispensing device.

Device for dispensing a dental material

A device () for dispensing a dental material which comprises a spindle drive () for driving a piston () for extruding the dental material. The spindle drive () comprises a pair of threaded spindles and a clasp nut member () which is adapted for engaging with anyone of the spindles. The clasp nut member has first and second thread structures () which are offset relative to each other by about &#xbd; of the pitch of the thread of the spindle or the thread structures () in a dimension of the pitch.
