An in-vehicle power transmission apparatus is equipped with a motor-generator working as an engine to drive a vehicle and a power split device made up of a plurality of power split rotors. A first one of the rotors is coupled to a driven wheel of the vehicle, while a second one of the rotors is coupled to an accessory such as an air compressor of an air conditioner. The speed of the second rotor is controllable independently of that of the driven wheel. This eases restrictions on the supply of power produced by the generator-motor to the accessory. Alternatively, the rotors are so linked that when the speed of the first rotor is not zero (0), the speed of the second rotor has one of zero (0) and a value other than zero (0), thus ensuring the stability in supplying the power to drive the vehicle to the accessory.

An electromagnetic fuel injection valve for use in an internal combustion engine includes a valve body provided with a valve seat and a valve member having an abutting part moved within the valve body by an electromagnetic actuator between a closed position where the abutting part abuts against the valve seat to interrupt supply of fuel to the engine and an open position where the abutting portion is spaced from the valve seat to permit supply of the fuel to the engine. The valve member has a metering portion which cooperates with the valve seat to define therebetween a fuel metering gap when the valve member is in the open position. The abutting part of the valve member is located downstream of the metering portion with reference to a flow direction of the fuel so that the metering portion is always immersed in the fuel when the valve member is in the closed position.

Electromagnetic fuel injection valve for internal combustion engine

A fuel injector to be mounted on a branch of an engine intake manifold has a hollow body with an injection orifice therein and a valve member mounted slidably in the body and having a pintle extending from one end of the valve member and slidably received in and extending through the injection orifice. A sleeve member is mounted on the body to cover the injection orifice and defines a pintle-receiving space into which the forward end of the pintle extends. Communication apertures are formed in the outer end of the sleeve member to communicate the pintle receiving space with an engine intake passage. The total of the cross-sectional areas of the communication apertures is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the pintle-receiving space.

Fuel injection system for internal combustion engine

A fuel supply system comprising a transverse partition wall upstream of a throttle valve and having at least one air intake opening therethrough, a spring-loaded metering rotor thereabove which has at least one rotary blade for controlling the opening area of the air intake opening and at least one movable wall upon which is exerted the intake air pressure, the partition wall having at least one stationary radial wall, whereby the stationary and movable walls define a pressure chamber which is variable in volume and into which is introduced the pressure downstream of the transverse partition wall, the pressures upstream and downstream of the transverse wall acting on the opposite surfaces of the movable partition wall so that the rotor is caused to rotate in the direction in which the opening area of the air intake opening is increased and the rotation of the metering rotor is stopped at an angular position at which the force of the bias spring is in equilibrium with the force rotating the metering rotor. Thus the angle of rotation of the metering rotor is in proportion to the flow rate of the intake air. A fuel metering valve has a spool formed integral with a shaft of the metering rotor and meters the fuel in proportion to the angle of rotation of the spool so that the air-fuel ratio can be maintained constant.

What follows is the description of a spring-loaded device for use in the fuel system of an internal combustion engine. The device includes a spring-loaded membrane connected to a valve which in turn provides access to atmospheric air. The arrangement is such that the danger of fuel escaping into the atmosphere or into the engine compartment is prevented.
