An electrical connector that has a conductive shell supporting at least one signal contact therein and that has a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end opposite the front end for electrically connecting to a coaxial cable. A ground connection is located inside of the conductive shell. A coupling member is rotatably coupled to the conductive shell and has an engagement feature for mechanically engaging a support panel associated with the mating connector. A sealing member is disposed on the conductive shell that is configured to provide an environmental seal between the conductive shell and the support panel when the conductive shell is mated with the mating connector.

High frequency electrical connector

A connector assembly that includes a receptacle with inner and outer shells which have a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end configured to connect to a printed circuit board. Receptacle primary and secondary ground connections are located on one of the shells. A plug with an outer shell that supports a pin contact to mate with the socket contact. The outer shell of the plug has a front end for mating with the front end of the receptacle and a back end that is configured to connect to a coaxial cable. Plug primary and secondary ground connections are located on the outer shell. When the receptacle and plug are mated, the primary ground connections form a primary grounding path through the assembly and the secondary ground connections form a secondary grounding path through the assembly, thereby electrically connecting the plug with the board.

High frequency electrical connector assembly

A contact member includes, an outer conductor including a mating interface section that includes a front end of the outer conductor, a termination section including a rear end of the outer conductor, and a middle section therebetween joining the mating interface and termination sections; an inner conductor received in the mating interface section; and a protective insulator including a main portion received in the mating interface section of the outer conductor and supporting the inner conductor and including an end portion configured for closed entry mating. The end portion has an end face extending outside of the front end of the outer conductor.

Contact member for electrical connector

A method of interconnecting first and second printed circuit boards using a float connector with a contact assembly that includes installing a first guide member onto the first printed circuit board with the float connector in an open non-compressed position, after installing the first guide member onto the first printed circuit board, installing a second guide member onto the second printed circuit board with the float connector in the open non-compressed position, and compressing the first and second printed circuit boards toward one another to move the float connector from the open non-compressed position to a compressed position until contact ends of the contact assembly of the float connector are exposed outside of the first and second guide members, respectively, thereby electrically connecting the contact ends to the first and second printed circuit boards, respectively, for electrical connection between the first and second printed circuit boards through the float connector.

Method of interconnecting printed circuit boards

Antenna units and system that has an antenna with at least one docking station, at least one radio unit; and at least one interconnect that includes first and second mating connectors. The first connector is configured to be electrically and mechanically coupled to the antenna and the second connector is configured to be electrically and mechanically coupled to the at least one radio unit. The interconnect has radial and axial float for blind mating of the first and second mating connectors. The first connector is mounted on the at least one docking station via a mounting body such that space for the radial float is provided between the mounting body and a housing of the first connector.

Integrated antenna unit with blind mate interconnect

A connector that has a conductive shell that supports at least one signal contact therein. The shell comprises a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end opposite the front end for connecting to a power or data transmission cable. A coupling member is configured to engage the conductive shell and engage a corresponding component associated with the mating connector to mechanically couple the connector and the mating connector together. A plurality of ground connections are provided at the front end of the conductive shell and the front section of the coupling member for grounding.

Coupling mechanism and connector with the same

An electrical connector that includes an outer conductive shell that encloses at least one signal contact therein and includes a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end opposite the front end for electrically connecting to a printed circuit board. A primary ground connection is located inside or outside of the outer conductive shell, the primary ground connection being configured to electrically engage the mating connector with the printed circuit board or coaxial cable. A float connector for interconnecting printed circuit boards that has a contact assembly including a contacts and a holder and each of the contacts has opposite first and second contact ends for electrically connecting to the boards. A first guide member is slidably and flexibly coupled to the contact assembly and has openings corresponding to the first contact ends. A second guide member is slidably and flexibly coupled to the contact assembly and has openings corresponding to the second contact ends. A biasing member biases the guide members away from one another to an open position. Axial float of the contact assembly is provided between the first and second guide members to compensate for axial misalignment between the first and second printed circuit boards. Radial float of the contact assembly is provided between the first and second guide members to compensate for radial misalignment between the boards.
