A method for assembling a dispensing container of the type as used for storing and dispensing liquid such as perfume, medicine and the like. The method comprises a forming a reservoir in a single integral part with an exterior surface being smooth and unbroken, assembling an actuator, a pump mechanism and a seal for sealing the pump mechanism with respect to the reservoir into a subassembly, and then inserting the subassembly into the opening of the reservoir to a predetermined distance to locate the seal and the pump mechanism completely internal of the actuator button and reservoir wherein only the actuator button and the reservoir are visible external to said dispensing pump and container.

Method for assembling a dispensing container

A dispensing container for storing and dispensing liquid such as perfume, medicine and the like is disclosed. The dispensing container contains a reservoir for the liquid, a pump for dispensing the liquid and a sealing collar for sealing the pump with respect to the reservoir.

Dispensing container

An atomizing pump for dispensing liquids from a container which has a low profile and is non-throttling. The pump comprises a body, a spring biased piston, a lower valve openable and closable by both pressure in the pump body and by frictional interengagement with the pump piston with an extending upper end of the lower valve, and an upper valve that frictionally and sealingly fits in a lower chamber in the piston, but which can be moved against a spring force and the friction force when pressure in the pump reaches a critical limit, so that the upper valve moves into a larger upper chamber so that liquid can escape from the pump body. The upper valve preferably has an extending stem that contacts the extending upper end of the lower valve during the terminal portion of a downward stroke of the piston and an initial portion of an upward stroke of the piston so that the upper valve can be held open. The stem has two opposing tabs on its lower that are deformable to spread apart and retain the upper valve in the piston.

Low profile pump

A reciprocating pump for dispensing liquids from a container comprises a hollow body in which is slidably fitted a hollow piston. A piston seat is located in the body and provides a segment sized for sealing fit inside the hollow piston, thereby minimizing possible leakage through the pump when it is transported with a liquid filled container. Upper and lower valves are provided in the piston and body respectively. The piston seat is adapted to interact with the upper valve member to hold it open during a portion of an upward stroke of the piston thereby drawing any undispensed liquid back into the pump.

Sealing pump

An assembly for securing and sealing a dispenser, such as a pump or valve, to a flanged container is disclosed. The assembly comprises a mounting cup having a generally cylindrical skirt around its periphery and a sealing collar including a sleeve having a diameter sized to receive the sidewall of the flange and sized to be encased by the mounting cup. The end portion of the sleeve, preferably a plurality of spaced tabs, is in the path of movement of the mounting cup and is deformed radially inwardly beneath the flange ledge thereby to secure the collar to the flange.

Assembly for securing and sealing a dispenser to a flanged container

A device for mixing and dispensing fluid is disclosed and comprises first and second containers each having a valve for dispensing fluid. The valve is normally biased to a closed position and operable against said bias to an open position. Piston and cylinder elements define a chamber for receiving the fluids. The piston element is movable in response to dispensing of fluid into said chamber. The piston element is operably connected to the valves and exerts a force on the valves to maintain them in an open position. The mixed fluids in the chamber are thereafter dispensed through a handpiece.

Fluid dispenser

A pump for dispensing liquid from a container is disclosed and comprised a cylinder, and a piston having an interior chamber with a valve member disposed therein, the valve member having a cylindrical surface at one end portion thereof. An inlet valve is provided and includes a sleeve having a cylindrical surface having a diameter sized to frictionally engage, provide a liquid seal and slide with respect to the cylindrical surface of the valve member. The inlet valve sleeve seats upon an annular ring extending around the inlet opening of the cylinder and seals the interior chamber of the pump with respect to the container. In accordance with an aspect of the invention, the pump may be non-venting such that a vacuum builds in the container as liquid is dispensed, and a sealing collar is provided to seal the pump with respect to the container.

Pump for dispensing liquid from a container

A horizontal diaphragm with a central recess has a downwardly extending peripheral lip engaging the periphery of an open neck of a container of fluid. A vertical hollow tubular element in the neck has an upper section disposed below the diaphragm and engaging the neck periphery. The section wall defines an inverted truncated cone with spaced longitudinally extending slots. A lower section has an upper opening coincident with the lower cone end and a lower opening extending into the container below the liquid level. A vertical bore in the element has a first constriction which passes liquid disposed in the lower section. The bore wall contains a vertical cylindrical recess communicating at its top end with the cone interior. A vertical tube extends through a central hole in the diaphragm. The tube is slidable in said recess and has a second constriction interiorly disposed intermediate its ends. The tube interior is connected by conduits to the concave recess. A vertical prong in the bore and tube is secured at its bottom end in the first constriction without obstructing liquid passage. The top end of the prong is disposed above and is larger than the second constriction. The main prong body slides through said second constriction with clearance to permit liquid to flow around said body through said second constriction.
