An apparatus for close visual inspection of subsea pipelines comprises a housing with a chamber that has an open side. The open side is adapted to be placed in sealing engagement against the pipeline. The chamber is flooded with clear water to improve the visual view. It is also described an apparatus for identification of a plume exiting from a leak The apparatus comprises a housing defining a chamber with a water permeable side that is adapted to face downward during use, and thereby being exposed to the exiting substance. A gas pressurizing device for creates a gas/water interface within the housing. An imaging device arranged above the water surface is adapted to image the water surface and detect id the water surface is being disturbed by the plume.

Tool for leak point identification and new methods for identification, close visual inspection and repair of leaking pipelines

The invention relates to a concept for controlled containment of oil and condensate and possibly other types of liquids and chemicals in constructions as a possible failure of the conventional prior art barriers used in offshore petroleum exploration and production activities, intended for use at several water depths. The concept comprises a support structure () and a deck structure () positioned on top of the support structure (), from where drilling may be performed, and where possible spillage of hydrocarbons from the drilling or production activities, in case of failure of the conventional barriers, will be contained and directed in a controlled manner to collecting storage tanks () integrated in the support structure ().

Platform for controlled containment of hydrocarbons

Flexible riser systems are used to transfer hydrocarbons between a sea bed installation and a vessel floating at the sea surface. The riser is provided with a protection mechanism to protect the riser from impacts. The protection mechanism covers at least the upper part of the riser and may be retractable to an in-active position. When in operation, the riser protection mechanism is either suspended from the vessel or from a submerged turret buoy, forming part of a mooring system for the vessel. At its lower end, the protection mechanism is provided with an annular body surrounding the riser, the annular body having sufficient weight to provide a downwardly acting force in the riser protection mechanism, causing a stretch or a tension in the riser protection mechanism.

Deep water flexible riser protection

The invention relates to flexible risers for transfer of hydrocarbons between a sea bed installation and a vessel () floating at the sea surface. The riser () is provided with means () for protecting the riser () from impacts. The protection means () covers at least the upper part of the riser () and is retractable to an inactive position. When in operation, the riser protection means () is either suspended from the vessel () or from a submerged turret buoy, forming part of a mooring system for the vessel ().
