Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex and Non-Coherent Demodulation A method includes obtaining a reference signal waveform which is defined in accordance with a non-coherent modulation scheme. The method also includes shaping the reference signal waveform to obtain at least one signal waveform associated with one or more subcarriers of a plurality of subcarriers. The method also includes inputting the at least one signal waveform to at least one corresponding channel of a multi-channel orthogonal frequency division multiplex, OFDM, modulator. The method further includes transmitting an OFDM symbol output by the OFDM modulator. Said shaping approximates a baseband representation of a part of the OFDM symbol associated with the one or more subcarriers to the reference signal waveform. For example, the reference signal waveform can be a reference wake-up signal waveform.

Generation of an OFDM-based single carrier wake-up signal

A method includes obtaining a reference signal waveform (b, b-b) which is defined in accordance with a non-coherent modulation scheme. The method also includes&#x2014;shaping the reference signal waveform (b, b-b) to obtain at least one signal waveform (x&#x2dc;) associated with one or more subcarriers (K) of a plurality of subcarriers (-). The method further includes inputting the at least one signal waveform to at least one corresponding channel () of a multi-channel orthogonal frequency division multiplex, OFDM, modulator (F,) and transmitting an OFDM symbol (s) output by the OFDM modulator (F,).

Orthogonal frequency division multiplex and non-coherent demodulation

The present application relates to methods for operating a terminal device and a base station of a cellular wireless multiple-input and multiple-output, MIMO, system. An uplink precoding for transmitting uplink signals from a plurality of antenna elements of the terminal device to the base station is determined. An uplink pilot signal using the uplink precoding and a radio resource of a transmission frame of the MIMO system is transmitted from the plurality of antenna elements. At the base station, a downlink precoding and uplink receive parameters are adjusted based on a receive property of the precoded uplink pilot signal from the terminal device.

Operating a terminal device and a base station in a wireless MIMO system

A sequence of downlink synchronization signals is transmitted to a device using a plurality of propagation channels. The plurality of propagation channels is selected according to an at least partly random pattern.

The present application relates to methods for operating a terminal device () and a base station () of a cellular wireless multiple-input and multiple-output, MIMO, system (). An uplink precoding for transmitting uplink signals from a plurality of antenna elements () of the terminal device () to the base station () is determined. An uplink pilot signal using the uplink precoding and a radio resource of a transmission frame of the MIMO system is transmitted from the plurality of antenna elements (). At the base station (), a downlink precoding and uplink receive parameters are adjusted based on a receive property of the precoded uplink pilot signal from the terminal device ().

A device controls each antenna to transmit at least one first UL pilot signal and to receive, for each first UL pilot signals DL data encoded according to the respective first UL pilot signal. The receive properties of the DL data are combined and a second UL pilot signal is determined based on the combined receive properties. The second UL pilot signal is repeatedly transmitted. The techniques may be applied in a massive multi-input multi-output scenario.

Multi-input multi-output pilot signals

The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for optimizing a wireless channel between a user equipment ('UE') and a base station ('BS'). An exemplary method comprises instructing the UE to transmit a first pilot signal from a first antenna of the UE and a second pilot signal from a second antenna of the UE; estimating a first wireless channel for the first antenna and a second wireless channel for the second antenna; defining a first parameter of a first filter for the first wireless channel and a second parameter of a second filter for the second wireless channel; and transmitting the first parameter and the second parameter to the UE.
