System and method for fine-tuning electromagnetic beams. One embodiment includes an array of electromagnetic radiators and beam-narrowing configuration. The array of electromagnetic radiators together generates an electromagnetic beam toward a configurable direction. The beam-narrowing configuration narrows the electromagnetic beam and consequently fine-tune the configurable direction. Optionally, the array of electromagnetic radiators is a phased-array that achieves the configurable direction electronically. Additionally or alternatively, the array of electromagnetic radiators is a millimeter-wave array, and the electromagnetic beam is a millimeter-wave beam.

System and method for fine-tuning electromagnetic beams

Various embodiments of a communication system operative to form, direct, and narrow communication beams using an array of electromagnetic radiators and a beam-narrowing architecture. A beam-width of an electromagnetic beam is narrowed, thereby increasing the concentration of electromagnetic energy in the beam and achieving a significant antenna gain. In various embodiments, the direction of an electromagnetic beam may be altered to improve communication between a transmitter and a receiver. In various embodiments, the system is a millimeter-wave system with a millimeter-wave array and millimeter-wave beams.

Systems and methods for forming, directing, and narrowing communication beams

A dual band antenna configuration constituted of: a waveguide extending from a proximal section to a high frequency band section; a first high frequency band port extending from the high frequency band section of the waveguide; a first low frequency band port extending, from an outer surface of a low frequency section of the waveguide, along a first radial path; a second low frequency band port extending, from the outer surface of the low frequency section of the waveguide, along a second radial path, the second radial path orthogonal to the first radial path; and a 180 degree hybrid coupler, wherein a first port of the 180 degree hybrid coupler in electrical communication with the first low frequency band port and a second port of the 180 degree hybrid coupler, different than the first port thereof, in electrical communication with the second low frequency band port.

Dual band antenna configuration

A method for accurately guiding millimeter-waves includes the following steps: Filtering millimeter-waves by applying the millimeter-waves at a first shape aperture of a filter waveguide, resulting in filtered millimeter-waves exiting a second shape aperture of the filter waveguide. Transporting the filtered millimeter-waves over a distance of between 9 centimeters and 25 centimeters, by applying the filtered millimeter-waves to an extruded waveguide having a length of between 9 centimeters and 25, and having a cavity featuring a cross-section that is accurate to within +/&#x2212;0.05 millimeters throughout the length of the extruded waveguide, resulting in transported millimeter-waves. And producing, on a reflector, an illumination pattern that is accurate to a degree that allows conforming to a first level of radiation pattern accuracy, by applying the transported millimeter-waves at a focal point of the reflector.

Accurate millimeter-wave antennas and related structures

A slotted waveguide array antenna includes a plurality of waveguide elements extending in a parallel side-by-side relation, each having a radiating side including a broad wall formed with a plurality of slots, and an asymmetric ridge. The slots are slanted to the longitudinal axis of the antenna in alternating directions and are spaced .lambda.g/2 apart such as to offset phase reversal between each pair of adjacent slots.
