A couch panel for a patient couch for a medical imaging method is disclosed. The couch panel is of single-shell design, beads are formed in the longitudinal direction of the couch panel, wherein the number and the shape of the beads are chosen such that the couch panel has a predefinable geometric moment of inertia. The two longitudinally extending edges of the couch panel are bent upward. This is advantageous because of the cost-effective production of a couch panel and, in the case of X-ray imaging, in the low radiation absorption. A patient couch having a couch panel of this kind is likewise disclosed.

A method and a computed tomography system are disclosed for producing computed tomograms of an object. A set of detector output data that represent beams over a specific angular range and a scan of a specific subregion of the object, are divided into m&#x2267;2 complete partial detector output data records that respectively cover the same complete angular range, but are reduced with their sampling density by 1/m and have mutually independent data records. Intermediate image data records (m records) that represent the identical object region are reconstructed from the m complete partial detector output data records. A correlation analysis is carried out between the m intermediate image data records. Finally, an image data record is produced that consists only of correlated data and includes no uncorrelated data.

In a method and filter and computer product for adaptive filtering of projection data acquired by a medical diagnostic apparatus, raw data-based filtering of the acquired projection data is undertaken using a filter with a filter kernel having a constant filter width, and the filtered projection data are mixed with the acquired projection data with a fixing of the respective quantitative relationships of filtered projection data to acquired projection data ensuing dependent on respective subsets of the acquired projection data.

Adaptive filter

A method is for determining a position of an object causing interference in the beam path of a computed tomography unit. The method includes recording a first calibration table in a first moving focal point mode and recording a second calibration table in a second moving focal point mode. The method further includes creating two differential tables based on the first and second calibration tables, each with a corresponding already available calibration table recorded in the same moving focal point mode and in interference-free operation. Finally, the position of the object causing the interference in the beam path is determined, based on the differential tables.

Method for determining and locating measurement system errors in computed tomography caused by interfering objects

In a method for measuring the dose distribution in a computed tomography apparatus, wherein the dose distribution of an X-ray beam emitted by an X-ray tube with a thickness prescribed by a radiation diaphragm is acquired in the thickness direction for at least one setting of the radiation diaphragm, the dose distribution is acquired in the thickness direction with detector elements of a detector line of the computed tomography system in front of which a slit diaphragm is attached, while adjusting the radiation diaphragm so that each possible setting is set. The dose distribution can be acquired in automated fashion and without manual evaluation that is susceptible to error.

Method for measuring the dose distribution in a computed tomography apparatus

A method of correcting the extrafocal radiation of an X-ray tube in image recordings with a computed tomograph, includes subjecting measured data, obtained from detector channels of at least one detector row in the computed tomography, to logarithmic manipulation and back projection in order to obtain the image recordings. The measured data, before the logarithmic manipulation and back projection, is subjected to convolution with a detector-channel-dependent convolution core EN(k), which is derived from a distribution of the extrafocal radiation on at least one detector channel of the computed tomograph or a computed tomograph of an identical type. The present method permits good correction of the extrafocal radiation without reference to the convolution cores to be used for the filtered back projection.

Method of correcting the extrafocal radiation of an X-ray tube in computed tomography

A method of producing images with different image characteristics from measured computer tomographic data, includes using a convolution of measured data with a first convolution core, designed to produce the first image characteristic, and subsequent back-projection by which first image data of a first image with the first image characteristic is calculated. The first image data is then subjected to filtering in order to produce second image data of a second image with a second image characteristic. By using the method, the storage requirement and the computing time in the production of images with different image characteristics can be reduced.

Method of producing images from measured computer tomographic data

In a method for producing an image of an examination subject by computed tomography using an x-ray source that moves around the examination subject for producing the image, a number of projections serving for the production of the image are registered during at least one revolution of the x-ray source around the examination subject. Motion artifacts of the image are at least reduced by identifying data representing a part of the image exhibiting a motion, and replacing that data with data complementary to the data exhibiting movement.

In a method for generating a resultant tomogram from a number of tomograms registered with a computed tomography (CT) apparatus by scanning slices of an examination subject that have different, fixed positions during the scan on a system axis proceeding at a right angle relative to the slices, the attenuation values acquired in the scanning of the individual slices are superimposed to form resulting attenuation values, and the resultant tomogram is reconstructed from the resulting attenuation values.

Method for generating a resultant tomogram from a number of tomograms registered with a computer tomography (CT) apparatus

A CT apparatus with alternating focus, in which the detector elements deliver output data when picking up individual projections corresponding to the beam attenuation of the X-rays proceeding to the detector element, the number of data items correspond to twice the number of detector elements participating in the pick-up of each projection. The output data are converted into image reconstruction data, which contain a number of data items per projection which is greater than twice the number of detector elements participating in the pick-up of the respective projection.

Computer tomography apparatus

A computed tomography (CT) device has a stationary frame and a rotor, carrying an X-ray source and a radiation detector, which is rotatably mounted at the frame. A number of marks are provided at the rotor at known angular intervals, these marks being scanned by a sensor, which is attached at the frame and which emits an output signal given the passing of a mark. The number of marks is significantly lower than the number of projections that are picked up in each rotation of the rotor. A computing unit determines the projection angles pertaining to the individual projections by interpolation from the output signals of the sensor.
