A toilet overflow prevention device including an overflow valve assembly, a control valve and a water level sensor. The overflow valve assembly is configured to selectively permit a flow of water through the valve assembly from the tank to the bowl of an associated toilet. The water level sensor is configured to provide a control signal in response to detecting an above-normal water level within the bowl of the toilet. The control valve is configured to actuate the overflow valve assembly in response to a control signal from the water level sensor. Preferably, the overflow valve assembly is separate from the primary flush valve of the toilet and is located between the primary flush valve and the bowl of the toilet.

Toilet overflow prevention device

A selectively controllable valve is arranged in a refrigeration circuit which interconnects the evaporator and the condenser and is controlled so that a pressure differential is built up across the valve. The valve is selectively opened to allow 'batches' of working fluid to pass therethrough. In some embodiments, the working fluid which is allowed to pass through the valve, is heated in a chamber to increase the amount of pressure on the downstream side of the valve. This produces expanded pressurized working fluid which increases the pressure in the condenser and forces previously condensed and liquefied working fluid through a flow restricting transfer device into an evaporator. Condensation of the just heated gas in the condenser subsequently reduces the pressure on the downstream side of the valve and establishes conditions suitable for the passage of a further amount of gaseous working fluid while itself becoming liquid to be forced through the flow restricting transfer device. Quick repetition of these cycles establishes a dynamic flow conditions and maintains the flow of liquefied working fluid into the evaporator. In other embodiments, the pressure differential is produced and/or augmented by pump such as a piston pump, or a combination of the pump and the heating chamber. If sufficient condensation can be induced using the operation of the condenser or by some other means and the required pressure differential developed, then both the heater and the pump can, depending on the circumstances and the cooling capacity that is required, be omitted. The flow of liquid working fluid from the condenser is transferred to the evaporator via either a capillary tube or a selectively controllable valve arrangement which can also posses pumping characteristics if so desired.

Compact refrigeration system

A water cooler is provided having a cabinet with water spigots and a door for accessing a refrigeration unit. The refrigeration unit includes a freezer compartment and may also include an icemaker. The cabinet interior contains a water reservoir which is supplied with water from a water bottle inverted in the top of the cabinet. Alternatively, the reservoir may be provided with an external source of water. In such case, an E-Coli sanitization module and a particulate water filter are provided. Cooling is effected with a compressor unit, condenser unit, an expansion valve and the refrigeration unit--all of which are interconnected with a closed loop coolant line. Predetermined segments of the coolant line are used to create freezing temperatures in the freezer compartment and non-freezing temperatures in a storage area, selected water lines and the reservoir. The condenser unit includes a condenser coil section which may be wrapped with ambient water for producing a supply of hot water. The coil section may also function to preheat ambient water that is moved to a hot water tank. The cabinet may include a pull-out section for placement of a water bottle in a lower chamber. In this case, a pump or air pressure is used to move water from the bottle into the interior heating and cooling system.
