An elevator construction arrangement comprises: a hoistway having a bottom section, a top section and optionally at least one intermediate section between the bottom and top sections in a building, an elevator car, a counterweight, car guide rails for guiding the car, counterweight guide rails for guiding the counterweight, an elevator hoisting machine and a suspension roping arranged to suspend the car and the counterweight during construction time use of the elevator, at least one protection deck mounted within the hoistway during elevator installation in a section of the hoistway, an installation platform configured to be guided on car guide rails during installation of at least one hoistway section, a hoist device configured to hoist a working platform in the bottom section and configured to hoist the working platform in hoistway sections above the bottom section, the hoist device preferably comprises a man riding hoist attachable to the car or the installation platform, and a hoist rope attachable to the car or the installation platform and movable with the hoist device during the elevator installation, a hoisting point configured to support the working platform via the hoist device and the hoist rope. During the elevator installation in the bottom section the hoisting point is configured to be mounted to a first protection deck, and the working platform guided on the car guide rails is configured to be used as an installation platform, and after each section elevator installation, the car is during construction time use configured to be moved by the elevator hoisting machine suspending the car and the counterweight together with the suspension roping, and during construction time use of the car, the installation platform is configured to be used as installation platform for an above section installation. Elevator construction arrangement and a method

The invention relates to a method for transporting construction material and/or equipment into and inside a building under construction, wherein the building under construction comprises plurality of vertically displaced floors, the method comprising providing a control system configured to automatically operate one or more transporting devices, including at least an elevator; providing a storage at the construction site of the building; and transporting into the storage at the construction site of the building under construction plurality of transport containers containing construction material and/or equipment; storing said transport containers in the storage; and delivering transport containers belonging to said plurality of transport containers from said storage to different destination floors, the delivering comprising obtaining an order to deliver a transport container, the order identifying the transport container to be delivered; and retrieving the transport container identified in the order from the storage; and moving said transport container at least horizontally to a container loading floor of the building under construction; and loading said transport container on the load receiving unit for being moved to its destination floor; and obtaining the destination floor information indicating the destination floor of said container; and moving the load receiving unit vertically in the elevator shaft to the destination floor of said transport container; and unloading said transport container from the load receiving unit to the destination floor of said transport container. The invention also relates to a method for constructing a building and an arrangement for transporting construction material, which implement the method for transporting construction material and/or equipment into and inside a building under construction.

The invention relates to a rope anchor for anchoring one or more ropes of an elevator, comprising at least a wedge housing comprising a tapering nest shaped to have a narrow end which is open towards a first direction, and a wide end which is open towards a second direction; and one or more wedge members mounted in the tapering nest for being wedged against a rope passing through the tapering nest; and one or more spring members for urging and/or arranged to urge the one or more wedge member towards the narrow end of the tapering nest; and a releasing mechanism actuatable to move the one or more wedge members () towards the wide end of the tapering nest. The invention relates to a method for constructing an elevator including installing an elevator car, a counterweight, guide rail lines, a hoisting machine in a first position, and a first hoisting roping, connecting the first hoisting roping to the elevator car and counterweight; and transporting the elevator car vertically in the hoistway; removing the hoisting machine from the first position and disconnecting the first hoisting roping from the elevator car and counterweight; installing the hoisting machine, in a higher second position, and a second roping, connecting the second hoisting roping to the elevator car and counterweight; and transporting the elevator car vertically in the hoistway while the hoisting machine is in the second position using the hoisting machine and the second hoisting roping.

The invention relates to a method of constructing an elevator comprising providing an elevator car in a hoistway, said elevator car comprising a cabin frame, and a temporary pulley beam detachably mounted on the cabin frame; mounting a hoisting machine in a first position which first position is at a first vertical level in the hoistway; suspending (first suspending) the elevator car with a hoisting roping from the hoisting machine via said temporary pulley beam; moving the elevator car in the hoistway with the hoisting machine while it is in said first position and suspended by the roping via said temporary pulley beam; mounting a hoisting machine in a second position which second position is at a second higher vertical level inside a machine room located above the hoistway; removing the temporary pulley beam from the elevator car, comprising detaching the temporary pulley beam from the cabin frame; suspending the car with a hoisting roping from the hoisting machine mounted in said second position via said cabin frame without said temporary pulley beam; moving the elevator car in the hoistway with the hoisting machine while it is in said second position and the car is suspended via said cabin frame without said temporary pulley beam. The invention also relates to an elevator arrangement for implementing the method.

Method of constructing elevator and construction-time elevator arrangement

A construction arrangement of an elevator including a hoistway; a protection deck mounted inside the hoistway for protecting the portion of the hoistway below it from falling objects; wherein the protection deck includes a cover extending across the hoistway covering the hoistway such that it blocks objects from falling into the hoistway below it; and a frame mounted on stationary structures of the hoistway; and a hoisting apparatus for hoisting construction material below the protective deck. The hoisting apparatus is supported by the protective deck, the hoisting apparatus includes a hoisting machine mounted on protection deck, and a flexible tension member movable with the hoisting machine.

Construction arrangement of an elevator

The self-climbing elevator machine room comprises two decks positioned upon each other. Each deck comprises guide means supporting the deck movably on guide rails and locking means locking and unlocking the deck to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing means. Lifting means move the two decks along the guide rails in relation to each other. At least one power source provides power to the lifting means. The elevator machine room climbs stepwise along the guide rails by alternatingly locking and unlocking the lower deck and the upper deck to the guide rails and/or to the guide rail fixing means and thereafter raising the unlocked deck.

The installation platform comprises two decks and a support frame comprising horizontal support beams supporting a respective deck and vertical support beams. The installation platform has a width in a first horizontal direction between the guide rails, a depth in a second horizontal direction perpendicular to the first horizontal direction. Construction arrangement of an elevator and method

The invention relates to an elevator arrangement, comprising a hoistway one or more vertically oriented guide rail lines in the hoistway for guiding vertical movement of one or more movable elevator units, and one or more movable elevator units mounted in the hoistway vertically movably along one or more guide rail lines, including at least an elevator car, preferably also a counterweight, and a hoisting roping; a movable support structure mounted in the hoistway for supporting said one or more movable elevator units below it via said hoisting roping, and a hoisting machine on the movable support structure for moving the hoisting roping, for thereby moving said one or more movable elevator units. The invention relates to a method for transporting construction material and/or equipment inside a building under construction, wherein the building under construction comprises plurality of vertically displaced floors, the method comprising providing an elevator for transporting transport containers in the building under construction, said elevator comprising at least a load receiving unit vertically movable along one or more guide rail lines in an elevator shaft formed in the building under construction; and providing plurality of transport containers each comprising a container body, and an identification provided on the container body for identifying the container and/or its destination in the building, most preferably the destination floor in the building under construction; providing one or more detectors within the building under construction for detecting identifications of containers when they are within the detection ranges of the one or more detectors; moving a first transport container belonging to said plurality of transport containers to a loading floor; loading the first transport container belonging to said plurality of containers on the load receiving unit; determining by a control system destination floor of the first container comprising detecting the identification of the first transport container with a detector; automatically moving the load receiving unit vertically in the elevator shaft to the destination floor of the first container; and unloading the first transport container from the load receiving unit to the destination floor of said first container. The invention also relates to a method for constructing a building and an arrangement, which implement the aforementioned method.

Method and arrangement

The arrangement comprises a self-climbing installation platform comprising two consecutive decks, a machine room deck suspended from the installation platform and an elevator car suspended from the machine room deck. Each deck, the machine room deck and the car are supported movably with guide means on guide rails and locked and unlocked with locking means to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing means. Lifting means powered by a power source move the two decks in relation to each other. The installation platform climbs stepwise along the guide rails by alternatingly locking and unlocking the lower deck and the upper deck to the guide rails and/or to the guide rail fixing means and thereafter raising the unlocked deck.

Self-climbing elevator arrangement for use during the construction of a building

The invention relates to a movable machine room comprising a support platform of a hoisting machine, the support platform comprising one or more releasable mounting mechanisms for releasably mounting the moveable machine room in a hoistway, and a hoisting machine mounted on the support platform; a working platform on top of the support platform, preferably forming a roof of the moveable machine room and/or comprising handrails; and at least one support structure supported by which the working platform rests on the support platform; and wherein each said support structure is selectively actuatable to expand in vertical direction for hoisting the working platform higher above the support platform taking reaction force from the support platform, or to contract in vertical direction for lowering the working platform back towards the support platform.
