Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for configuration domains for the configuration of web services and consumer proxies. In general, data characterizing one or more web services to activate is received and run-time configurations are caused to be generated for each of the web services and each of consumer proxies for the web services. The web services are from a provider system in a group of systems having a profile having one or more policies to be adhered to by the systems. The systems may include a consumer system and the provider system. The consumer system may have one or more consumer proxies to call the web services. The run-time configurations may include one or more settings derived from the policies of the profile.

Configuration domains for the configuration of web services and consumer proxies

Systems, computer products, and computer-implemented methods may be directed to publishing information about a service offered by a service provider at a first services registry. The information about the service can be communicated to a second services registry. An indication of a subscription to the service may be received by a service consumer from the second services registry. Distribution of messages in system landscapes

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for facilitating communication between enterprise software applications. Some enterprise software systems communicate using a message protocol designed for use with an exchange system. Those systems require the exchange system to communicate using that message protocol. To communicate with systems using that message protocol, a local system can build a message formatted in accordance with the message protocol, even without an exchange system. The local system stores configuration data and uses the configuration data to build the message.

Facilitating communication between enterprise software applications

In general, data is received characterizing web service calls for an application, a placeholder destination for the web service calls, and an identification of a system to be mapped to the placeholder; and a configuration is generated for the web service calls, where the configuration maps the placeholder destination to the system. The configuration may be a configuration of proxy objects to make the web service calls. Mapping the placeholder destination to the system may include generating a configuration including the system in lieu of the placeholder destination. Systems may be included in domains, where a security policy may be applied to systems in a domain.

Configuration of web services

According to one general aspect, a method may comprise identifying a provider application that is associated with a consumer application, from amongst a plurality of provider applications hosted on a provider machine. In various embodiments, the identification may be based at least in part upon the provider application's business identifier (ID). In various embodiments, each provider application includes at least one web service. In some embodiments, the plurality of provider applications includes a plurality of instantiations of at least one of the web service. In various embodiments, the method may also include transmitting a message to one of the web services of the identified provider application.

Business application address determination

From a case-sensitive technical identifier referencing a resource and having upper case letters, a bit string is generated. The bit string identifies whether each letter in the case-sensitive technical identifier is upper case or lower case. In addition, the upper case letters in the case-sensitive technical identifier are converted to lower case and are concatenated with the bit string to generate a case-insensitive technical identifier.
