The invention relates to a method for designing a lightning protection system for the exterior lightning protection of buildings and systems and to an insulated lightning arrester device related thereto. The lightning arrester of the lightning protection system is at least partly designed as an insulated electric conductor with a conductive layer or casing on the insulation, and conductive structures can be found in the respective building or the respective system, wherein the structures are potentially exposed to inductions which occur in the event of a lightning current to be arrested, and correspondingly the conductive layer on the insulated conductor together with the respective conductive structure forms a secondary loop.

Suppressing circulating currents in conductive structures in buildings

A magnetic field is measured with the aid of the Faraday effect. Light is coupled into a Faraday element subjected to the magnetic field, the light having a linearly polarized first component at a first wavelength and an unpolarized second component at a second wavelength different from the first. A light signal is coupled out of the Faraday element and is split optically into a first light signal component with the first wavelength and a second light signal component with the second wavelength. A first measurement signal is derived from the first light signal component and a second measurement signal is derived from the second light signal component and these are used to form a corrected measurement signal S. In this way, attenuation influences in the transmission paths can be largely compensated for, even when measuring a magnetic field which is constant over time or a magnetic field with a component which is constant over time.

Method and device for measuring a magnetic field with the aid of the faraday effect

An encapsulated installation, in particular a switching installation for high or medium voltage, includes a plurality of sensors located in an interior of an encapsulation. A central monitoring device is provided for information interchange with the surface acoustic wave sensors. An antenna element of the monitoring device is disposed at the encapsulation and is directed towards the interior. The sensors can be interrogated selectively.

Encapsulated installation

A switching station for high or medium voltage offers a simple and practicable configuration for information transmission with a high security against failure. Panel devices are connected through a first bus line to a central control device. The panel devices feed a second bus line to which control devices of switching devices of the switch panel are connected. The second bus line is formed by an auxiliary line of the switching station.

An encapsulated tubular conductor having at least two antenna elements disposed on the capsule thereof for maintaining therebetween wireless information transmission in a transmitting-receiving direction, and a transmitting-receiving device located outside the capsule and assigned to one of the antenna elements includes another transmitting/receiving device also disposed outside the capsule and assigned to the other of the antenna elements, the antenna elements being directed towards an interior space of the capsule, the interior space serving as a transfer path via which information is transferable between the transmitting-receiving devices.

Encapsulated tubular conductor

A method for detecting the position of a switching device and an encapsulated switching installation having at least one switching device. A transmitted signal is emitted into the interior of an encapsulation to make it possible to easily detect the position of a switching device in an encapsulated switching installation. A resultant reflection signal is received and stored. After a repetition of this process, the two received reflection signals are compared with one another. In the event of any discrepancy, a message signal is produced for the new switching state.

A metalclad switchgear assembly for high or medium voltage, having a cladding, includes at least one sensor arranged in an interior space of the cladding for detecting a condition variable within the cladding, the sensor having an antenna; and a transmitting and receiving antenna directed towards the interior space, the transmitting and receiving antenna serving for performing a wireless information interchange with the sensor, and for simultaneously detecting electromagnetically partial discharges in the interior space.
