A system and method for editing multimedia content. A server transmits multimedia content to a plurality of electronic devices. Each of the plurality of electronic devices enables a user to perform at least one action in relation to the multimedia content. A a voting engine gathers information concerning the actions performed by users in relation to the multimedia content transmitted to the electronic devices. In response to the information gathered by the voting engine, the multimedia content is modified based upon predefined criteria. The modified multimedia content is subsequently provided to later users.

System and method for enabling collaborative media stream editing

A system and method for editing multimedia content. A server transmits multimedia content to a plurality of electronic devices. Each of the plurality of electronic devices enables a user to perform at least one action in relation to the multimedia content. A voting engine gathers information concerning the actions performed by users in relation to the multimedia content transmitted to the electronic devices. In response to the information gathered by the voting engine, the multimedia content is modified based upon predefined criteria. The modified multimedia content is subsequently provided to later users.

The system according to the invention interprets sensor observations by tracking objects and by collecting information about the objects by means of the tracking and by using this information for affirming events linked to the objects and in producing information describing the events. The system detects events according the conditions defined for them, on the basis of sensor observations. The conditions can relate to the essence of the objects, e.g. to the strength of the observations linked to the object, to the size and/or shape of the object, to a temporal change of essence and to movement. The event conditions used by the system can comprise conditions applying to the location of the object. The system according to the invention can be used e.g. for detecting the falling, the getting out of bed, the arrival in a space or the exit from it of a person by tracking an object with a dense sensor field, and for producing event information about the treatment or safety of the person for delivering to the person providing care.

Method and system for detecting events

The invention relates to backing up a network element (NE) in a telecommunications system. The network element (NE) comprises at least two cluster nodes (A, B, C) that are redundancy units of each other. Each cluster node (A, B, C) contains virtual nodes (a, a, b, b, c, c). Pairs are formed of the virtual nodes (a, a, b, b, c, c) in such a manner that the first virtual node of the pair resides in the first cluster node and the second virtual node in the second cluster node. One of the virtual nodes in the pair is active and the other on standby. When a cluster node malfunctions, the virtual nodes of the pairs whose active virtual nodes reside in the faulty cluster node are interchanged by changing the standby virtual nodes to active and the active virtual nodes to standby.

Redundancy and load balancing in a telecommunication unit and system

A software object model for modeling (resource instances and resource types in a network management system. The model comprises object instances and object classes. Each class comprises fragments of data and/or program code and is a generalization of one or more object instances. The model models each resource type by an object class and assigns to the class a class version identifier which indicates at least some capabilities of the resource instance/types and a collection of the fragments included in the class of the version in question. The model further models each resource instance by an object instance of the corresponding class, and assigns to the instance an object instance identifier and an instance version identifier which indicate the version of the class used for modeling the resource type in question.
