A drive unit for a rotatable high-frequency electrode of a medical resector for cutting, ablating, or coagulating human or animal tissue includes an engine device for generating a rotation movement and a coupling device for transmitting the rotation movement generated by the engine device to an axis coupled with the rotatable high-frequency electrode when the drive unit is coupled with the medical resector. The drive unit is configured to provide on the coupling device a rotation frequency in a range from 10 rpm to 200 rpm.

A medical resector for oblating, cutting, or coagulating human or animal tissue includes a rotatable high-frequency electrode on the distal end of a shaft of the medical resector and an axle that runs from the proximal end to the distal end of the shaft and is mechanically coupled with the high-frequency electrode on the distal end. The axle is positioned on the distal end of the shaft in the center or as close as possible to the center of the cross-section of the shaft and on the proximal end of the shaft on the border or as close as possible to the border of the cross-section of the shaft.

A sewing maching having associated modules which can be inserted at will and which are interchangeable in a guide of the housing of the machine. The front side of the plate-shaped modules is visible in the inserted condition of the module and is provided with stitch symbols to which are assigned numbers. On the inside of the modules are arranged memories, preferably in connection with a microprocessor, which are in connection with the microprocessor of the sewing machine when the modules are inserted. By means of keys and a display, the number corresponding to the desired stitch sort can be selected and the control data from the memories of the module will be recalled in the microprocessor of the sewing machine and then used for controlling operation of the sewing machine. By means of simple, strong modules of an advantageous price, even an unskilled operator can select and recall any number of stitch sorts in a simple and safe way when the module with the desired sort of stitch is inserted and the corresponding number is selected.

For the adjustment of the values for the length and width of the stitches there is provided rotative adjustment knobs, each of which permitting to set a counter through an incremental sensing device. The state of the counter serves for controlling the machine and an analog display consisting of a luminous beam. From a storage unit basic adjustment values for determined sorts of stitches may be introduced in the counter and utilized unchanged or arbitrarily modified for controlling the display. The adjusted value effective for controlling the machine and the basic adjustment value are displayed in a different manner on each display. This gives as a whole a diversified, pleasant to handle and clear adjustment and display.

Adjustment and indicating device for an electronic sewing machine

A foot control of the sewing machine can be actuated from a neutral position in two directions. In one case, a variable resistance becomes effective which produces regulating voltages within a determined range. A logic circuit with comparators produces for this voltage range a condition in which the driving motor of the sewing machine is controlled to operate with a number of turns corresponding to the voltage range. When the machine is stopped the needle is automatically positioned in its upper stop position. By repetitive actuation backward of the foot pedal the needle may be positioned in its bottom stop position and again in its upper stop position and so on. The logic treatment of the control signals from the foot control permits to transmit these signals for all required instructions through a two wire cable which is already required for the speed control.

A sewing machine drive having a mains rectifier (1) which, via a chopper (2) operating at a relatively high frequency, supplies direct current pulses to the driving motor (3). The duty ratio of these driving pulses is controlled as a function of a nominal value transmitter (11) and a current limiting circuit (14) controlled by the motor speed. This produces a smooth quiet, vibration-free operation of the motor (3) or the driven machine with a high degree of motor efficiency. Moreover, a speed-dependent current limitation occurs in such a manner that at high speeds a limited maximum current flows, which at the same time results in an output limitation.

Sewing machine drive

A sewing machine having a torsion spring coupling between drive and machine shaft. An engageable catch pawl acts on a stop element connected to the drive, which stop element is connected to the drive side of the coupling spring of the drive. If the catch pawl is engaged with the machine in operation and the stop element is blocked, the coupling spring is released and hence the coupling disengaged. The motor may then run down while the motor shaft is stopped resiliently in a predetermined position via the coupling spring which simultaneously the coupling spring prevents excessive forces from occurring due to inertia and excess stressing. Hence this construction permits the motor to be stopped rapidly from full operation with simple means.
