The invention relates to a method for synchronizing sensors in a sensor array, including at least one electronic control unit and at least one sensor, which are connected to each other by a first and a second line, wherein the sensor is supplied with electric power by the first and second lines, and additionally at least one data signal (a) is transmitted by the first and second lines from the sensor to the electronic control unit, wherein the electronic control unit transmits a defined supply voltage signal having varying polarity as a synchronization signal (b, c) to the sensor, whereupon the sensor transmits at least one data signal (a) to the electronic control unit, after the polarity of the synchronization signal has been reversed.

Method for synchronizing sensors

The invention relates to a sensor system including a plurality of sensor elements which are designed so that the elements detect at least partially different primary measured values and utilize at least partially different measurement principles, further including a signal processing apparatus, an interface apparatus and a plurality of functional apparatuses. The sensor elements are connected to the signal processing apparatus, which is designed so that it includes at least one of the following signal processing functions each for at least one of the sensor elements and/or the output signals thereof, an error handling, a filtering, a calculation and/or provision of a derived measured value. At least one measured value is derived from at least one primary measured value of one or more sensor elements, and all functional apparatuses are connected to the signal processing apparatus via the interface apparatus and the signal processing apparatus provides the signal processing functions.

In order to be able to perform redundant measurements of rotation rates particularly economically, disclosed herein is a sensor device which includes a dual-axis, first rotation rate sensor element with which rotation rates of rotating motions of the sensor device about a first and a second rotation rate measurement axis can be detected, wherein the first and the second rotation rate measurement axes are oriented orthogonally in relation to one another. The sensor device is defined by the fact that the sensor device includes at least one other rotation rate sensor element with which a rotation rate of a rotating motion of the sensor device about a rotation rate measurement axis, which lies in a plane together with the first and the second rotation rate measurement axes, can be deselected.
