A therapy device having a blood pressure device and a regulating device for a time-variable regulation of the blood pressure, which decides, during a therapy procedure, dependent on detected blood pressure value, whether the blood regulation is continued with hypothetical or with real blood pressure values. The regulating device processes various categories of blood pressure values, i.e. blood pressure values obtained by the regulating device according to an implemented time schedule, blood pressure values requested by measurement and evaluation device, and blood pressure values requested by medical staff. Besides the regular triggers (RT) generated at regular intervals, the irregular triggers (IRT) and the quasi-regular triggers (QRT) requested externally at respective times are also evaluated.

Therapy device with a time-variable blood regulation

In a dialysis apparatus the blood pressure is normally monitored at intervals of 5 minutes. According to the invention the current blood pressure curve ( ) is measured only during the first 45 minutes at intervals of 5 minutes and then compared with the stored blood pressure curves of previous treatments of the same patient. On the basis of statistical analyses that blood pressure curve is determined from a data storage, which shows the largest similarity to the current blood pressure curve and used as the basic curve ( ) for blood pressure control during the current treatment. During further treatment the blood pressure measurement is carried out at intervals from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. This considerably reduces the number of blood pressure measurements and the resultant discomfort of the patient.

Dialysis apparatus using a blood pressure meter and a controller

The ultrafiltration rate of a blood purification apparatus is controlled by a fuzzy control device in dependence on the patient's ( ) blood pressure measured by a blood pressure monitor ( ). For this purpose the blood pressure (P), a short-term blood pressure trend value (TRK) and a long-term blood pressure trend value (TRL) are fed as input variables for the fuzzy controller to the control device ( ). The ultrafiltration rate (UFR) is determined by the volumetric ultrafiltration pump ( ). According to the patient's ( ) blood pressure situation a prestored profile of the ultrafiltration rate is modified. This avoids the necessity of an additional infusion to prevent too strong a blood pressure decrease.

Blood purification apparatus

The infusion system is provided with a control device (10) wherein a plurality of influence factors with different physiological action mechanisms, i.e. a plurality of semantic domains, is considered as fuzzy information in the automatic dosing of drugs and the semantic significance of the individual domains is taken into account. The control device (10) for controlling at least one infusion apparatus (21) comprises a plurality of fuzzy control units (17,19) structured in a hierarchical system. On a first hierarchical levels, all linguistic variables, measurement values and derived values are examined by a semantic analyzer (16) with regard to the significance of their contents for the various semantic domains. In a unit (18) for evaluation of semantic domains, the results of the above examination are passed through a plurality of evaluation stages to draw conclusions on the operation on a second hierarchical level on which each semantic domain is represented by a fuzzy control unit (19) of its own. By the continuous semantic analysis on the first hierarchical level and the selective controlling of the fuzzy control units (19) on the second hierarchical level, the qualitatively different components of influence as well as the changes in the patient's condition occurring during the treatment, are reliably interpreted in their complex interaction and corresponding to their semantic significance and are included in the automatic dosing of drugs.
