Techniques described herein address these and other issues by providing an architecture of antennas capable of generating a relatively even H-field without exceeding exposure limits, while solving communication issues at the same time. More specifically techniques described herein are directed toward the use of multiple antennas that enable an interrogator device of a biological measurement and stimulation system to power different groups of medical implants at different times by creating fields in different regions of the brain. By doing this, the interrogator device can independently power and/or communicate with groups of medical implants in these different regions and create more evenly-distributed fields while doing so.

Techniques provided herein are directed toward providing a selection protocol that can be used in such biological measurement and stimulation systems to select only a portion of the medical implants for reporting during a particular system cycle. In particular, the interrogator device can send the first message that defines a group to the medical implants, then send a second message with the identifier of the group to trigger communications with the medical implants of that group.

Aspects of the disclosure are directed to interference cancellation. A method of performing interference cancellation in a wireless device having a receiver, a coefficient controller and an analog interference cancellation (AIC) circuit includes utilizing the receiver to receive a signal; utilizing the coefficient controller to compute a first cost function value using a first set of coefficients, to compute a second set of coefficients using a first coefficient control algorithm, to compute a second cost function value using the second set of coefficients, to compare the second cost function value with the first cost function value, and to determine whether to apply the first set or the second set of coefficients based on the comparison; and utilizing the AIC circuit to apply the first or second set of coefficients to filter a reference signal and the receiver to subtract the filtered reference signal from the received signal for interference cancellation.

An apparatus for restricting the flow of RF energy when attached to a tester wherein test equipment is positioned within the apparatus, comprising: a lid; a base; hinges for attaching the lid to the base; EMI gasket material for sealing seams; latches for attaching the lid to the base and for applying forces between the lid and the base to provide compression of the EMI gasket material for proper sealing of the seams; a connection point for providing two axis alignment of the base to the tester; and a positioning plate for providing three axis alignment of the test equipment in relation to the tester.
