An electronic device includes: a display part including a first non-folding area, a second non-folding area, a first folding area, a third non-folding area, and a second folding area, where the first folding area is disposed between the first non-folding area and the second non-folding area and folded to have a first radius of curvature, and the second folding area is disposed between the second non-folding area and the third non-folding area and folded to have a second radius of curvature greater than the first radius of curvature; and a functional part disposed adjacent to the first non-folding area of the display part and having a predetermined thickness in a thickness direction of the display part. The functional part includes an electronic module disposed on an upper surface of the functional part, and the electronic module includes at least one of a camera module and a driving module.

Electronic device

A display device includes a display panel, a driving controller, and a readout circuit. The display panel includes a first part and a second part. The first part includes a first pixel set. The second part includes a first sensor set. The driving controller controls the first pixel set to emit first light when controlling the first sensor set to receive second light. The first sensor set generates a sensing signal using the second light. The readout circuit is electrically connected to at least one of the driving controller and the first sensor set and receives the sensing signal. The display device calculates a dust concentration using the sensing signal.

The LCD further includes a common electrode disposed on the overcoat layer to form an electric field with the pixel electrode, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first base substrate and the second base substrate.

A display panel curved in a first direction includes: first and second areas corresponding to two segments of a pixel divided by a line in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; and a first electrode, in which first sub horizontal openings are defined in the first area, and second sub horizontal openings are defined in the second area, where the first and second sub horizontal openings extend along the first direction; a second substrate including: third and fourth areas corresponding to two segments of the pixel divided by a line in the first direction; and a second electrode, in which first vertical openings are defined in the third area, and second vertical openings are defined in the fourth area, where the first and second vertical openings extend along the second direction; and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates.

Liquid crystal display panel

A display device includes a first supporting member disposed in the first pad area of the first base substrate and spaced apart from the sealing member to define a predetermined space. A second supporting member is filled in the predetermined space by filling and curing liquid material. This protects the display panel from harsh ambience, such as light, heat and moistures, reducing the sealing and black matrix area. Such improvement can decrease the bezel size, effectively increasing viewable area of the display, which becomes more important in the mobile device.

A method of manufacturing a display panel assembly includes: preparing a mother substrate on which are defined first regions and dummy regions respectively between adjacent first regions; forming pixel driving lines and pixels connected to the pixel driving lines on each of the first regions in a same process at the same time as forming circuit connection lines on each of the dummy regions; connecting a driving element which drives the pixels to the circuit connection lines of the dummy regions; dividing the mother substrate to separate the first regions and the dummy regions from each other, each of the separated first regions defining a thin film transistor board of the display panel assembly, and each of the separated dummy regions defining a driving circuit board of the display panel assembly; and connecting the driving circuit board to the thin film transistor board.

Method of manufacturing components of display panel assembly from same mother substrate

A display apparatus includes a first insulating substrate on which pixels are arranged and a second insulating substrate facing the first insulating substrate. Each pixel includes a gate electrode disposed on the first insulating substrate, a gate insulating layer disposed on the first insulating substrate to cover the gate electrode, a semiconductor pattern disposed on the gate insulating layer to overlap with the gate electrode, a source electrode and a drain electrode disposed on the semiconductor pattern, a transparent pixel electrode disposed on the gate insulating layer and partially making contact with the drain electrode, a protective layer disposed on the pixel electrode, and a common electrode disposed on the first insulating substrate or the second insulating substrate to form an electric field together with the pixel electrode.

Display apparatus and method of manufacturing the same

Provided is an array substrate including a base substrate, a thin film transistor having a semiconductor layer disposed on a first part of the base substrate. The semiconductor layer includes a source electrode and a drain electrode, a gate electrode disposed on the semiconductor layer and insulated from the semiconductor layer. A light-blocking layer disposed between the base substrate and the thin film transistor. The light-blocking layer comprises a first layer continuously disposed on and around the first part of the base substrate, and a second layer formed on the first part of the base substrate without extending outside of the first part, the second layer being disposed on the first layer.
