A rig site may include a rotary table within a rig floor above a wellbore. A fabric sheet rolled into two symmetrical rolls is disposed on the rig floor. A pre-cut center hole of the fabric sheet is coaxial with the rotary table. A casing string, to be lowered in the wellbore, includes a first casing joint at a bottom of the casing string is a modified float joint. The pre-cut center hole of the fabric sheet is attached to a sleeve of the modified float joint. Union units are provided above the rotary table. The union units close the fabric sheet around the casing string to form a fabric-nested casing string within the wellbore. A cement slurry is pumped down the casing string and into a space between the fabric sheet and the casing string to cement the fabric-nested casing string to the wellbore.

System and method for running and cementing fabric-nested casing

A mechanical autonomous pipe cutting system for cutting a pipe in a wellbore includes a locking unit that prevents the system from moving within the pipe when engaged to an inner surface of the pipe, a punching unit that moves a plurality of punching elements radially relative to an axis of the system, and a cutting unit that is designed to sever the pipe. The locking unit, the punching unit, and the cutting unit are attached to a body of the mechanical autonomous pipe cutting system. The body includes a motor that rotates the cutting unit. The mechanical autonomous pipe cutting system further includes a sensor module that detects interactions between the pipe and walls of the wellbore and a control unit in electronic communication with the sensor module, the locking unit, and the punching unit. The control unit actuates the locking unit and operates the punching unit subsequent to identifying a location where interaction between the pipe and the walls of the wellbore limits a downhole movement of the pipe based on an output of the sensor module.

Mechanical autonomous punch and cut system

A method for a well includes obtaining a dynamic input parameter combination for the well, determining measurements for a rotating control device using a sensor, and predicting a rotating control device wear estimate using rotating control device estimation methods, the measurements, and the dynamic input parameter combination. A rotational continuous circulation system and methods includes a circulation sub having an internal bore extending along a central axis. The circulation sub has an uphole body having a reduced outer diameter along a downhole length of the uphole body. A central valve selectively opens and closes the uphole internal bore. At least one check valve is located within a sidewall of the uphole body to selectively allow fluid to flow into the uphole internal bore through the at least one check valve. A downhole body has an uphole portion circumscribing a downhole portion of the uphole body. A sleeve assembly circumscribes the reduced outer diameter of the uphole body. The uphole body and the downhole body are configured to rotate about the central axis independently from the sleeve assembly. A side-entry port of the sleeve assembly provides a fluid flow path from an exterior of the sleeve assembly to the at least one check valve.

A drilling assembly includes a drill string configured to be disposed within a wellbore. The drilling assembly also includes a sub fluidically coupled to the drill string. The sub includes a mandrel fixed to the drill string and defines an external helically undulated surface and a bore configured to flow drilling fluid received from the drill string. The sub includes a sleeve rotationally coupled to and disposed outside the mandrel. The sleeve has an internal helically undulated surface corresponding with the external helically undulated surface of the mandrel to form, with the mandrel, a progressive cavity. The progressive cavity receives fluid from the bore of the mandrel to rotate the sleeve as the drilling fluid flows along the cavity. The sub also includes a valve configured to regulate a flow of the drilling fluid along the bore to direct fluid toward or away from the progressive cavity.

Reducing friction in a drill string and cleaning a wellbore

Before, during, and after a wellbore cementing operation temperature, pressure, and other conditions of a cement slurry are monitored downhole. The monitored conditions are compared to theoretical or calculated conditions to confirm the cementing operation is carried out in downhole conditions as planned. When differences between the monitored conditions and those used in planning the cementing operation exceed an acceptable range, adjustments are made to the cementing operation to account for the differences.
