In a transfer needle () having at least one transfer spring (), this transfer spring () is held, on its one end, in a preferably lateral pocket or recess of the needle body, while the tip of the transfer spring is positioned in a longitudinal slit of the needle body. Knitting system component

A latch needle includes a needle shank; a hook formed at one end of the needle shank; a saw slot formed in the needle shank adjacent the hook; and a latch supported in the saw slot for pivotal motion about a pivot axis. The latch has first and second end positions and a position of rest situated between the end positions adjacent one of the end positions. Further, the latch has first and second engagement faces spaced from one another. A spring situated in the saw slot has a first pressing face which is in contact with the first engagement face when the latch is in the position of rest; and a second pressing face spaced from the first pressing face and being in contact with the second engagement face when the latch is in the end position adjacent the position of rest.

A transfer needle for loop forming machines includes an elongated needle shank having a needle back, an outer side face and a top face opposite the needle back; a transfer spring attached to the needle shank and defining an intermediate space therewith; and a lateral recess provided in the needle shank and forming part of the intermediate space. The recess is defined by a guide face extending from the needle back to the outer side face of the needle shank. The guide face includes a first length portion bordering the outer side face of the needle shank and extending toward the needle back; and a second length portion bordering the needle back and extending toward the outer side face of the needle shank. The first and second length portions meet in an obtuse angle open toward the transfer spring.

Loop transfer needle

A latch needle for loop-forming textile machines includes a needle shank having an upper side, a back and a sawslot extending into the needle shank from the upper side and oriented parallel to the shank. A hook is provided at an end of the needle shank. A spring element is disposed in the sawslot and has at least one end supported by the needle shank. A needle latch is supported in the sawslot for pivotal motion about an axis between a closed position in which the needle latch engages, with a frontal end thereof, the hook and a rearward position. The needle latch has a latch shank which includes an upper side and a lower side. In the rearward position the needle latch lies, with the upper side of the latch shank, on the upper side of the needle shank or is situated in the vicinity of the upper side of the needle shank. The latch shank further has an end part formed as a cam engaged by the spring element. The cam includes a component formed of a flat portion and/or a kink edge at the upper side of the latch shank. The component, cooperating with the spring element, determines and maintains the rearward position of the needle latch. The cam has an arcuate cam face adjoining the component and having, from the pivot axis of the needle latch, a radial distance which gradually decreases from the upper side of the latch shank towards its lower side.
