A method performed in a network node for configuring UE with dynamic spectrum sharing between a first RAT and a second RAT in a wireless communications system is disclosed. The network node configures an initial bandwidth part, BWP, for a UE, spanning across a dedicated spectrum for the first RAT and a shared spectrum between the first and second RATs, wherein synchronization signals of the first RAT are configured in the dedicated spectrum, and at least some other signals of the first RAT are configured in both dedicated and shared spectrum. The first RAT is NR and the second RAT is LTE.

Network node and method for dynamic spectrum sharing between radio access technologies

There is provided mechanisms for determining time-of-arrival of a PRACH preamble. A method is performed by a radio access network node. The radio access network node is configured for beamformed communication in a set of beams. The method comprises receiving, from a UE and at a TRP of the radio access network node, a PRACH preamble. The method comprises determining a weight factor value for the PRACH preamble. The weight factor value is dependent on beam information mapped to the PRACH preamble. The beam information identifies one of the beams in the set of beams. The method comprises determining time-of-arrival of the PRACH preamble using hypothesis testing that incorporates the weight factor value.

Random access preamble detection for propagation delay is described herein. The proposed solution predicts energy levels for a set of hypotheses, compares the predicted energy with measured energy, and selects the hypothesis that minimizes a cost function based on the difference of the predicted energy and the measured energy. Some embodiments of the proposed solution may make it possible to extend cell range by allowing a maximum round-trip time exceeding the period of the random access preamble sequence. For the long preamble formats for Long Term Evolution (LTE) and New Radio (NR), the cell range may be extended beyond 120 kilometers (km). For millimeter wave applications, the cell range may be extended beyond 2.5 km.

In one embodiment, a method for a wireless device (WD) includes obtaining a configuration of at least one reference signal of a first radio access technology that overlaps in time with a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service Single Frequency Network, MBSFN, subframe of a second radio access technology. In another embodiment, a method for a network node includes configuring at least one reference signal of a first radio access technology to overlap in time with a MBSFN subframe of a second radio access technology.

The base station notifies a terminal of a cyclic shift increment Nconfiguration information indicating an Nvalue. The base station then receives from the terminal a random access preamble related to the Nvalue indicated by the Nconfiguration information. Methods, devices and computer programs for determining new transmit directions to use for beamformed transmissions in case the link quality of an existing direction falters. A transmitting communication device and a receiving communication device cooperate via a beam tracking procedure to determine a new suitable transmit direction to use for upcoming beamformed transmissions. Information relating to the beam tracking procedure is communicated over an existing link that enables communication between the transmitting and receiving communication devices. The receiving communication device provides the transmitting communication device with information about a beam scan performed in order to detect tracking beams transmitted by the transmitting communication device. This information allows the transmitting communication device to determine suitable transmit directions to use.

According to one aspect, a method of determining a length of a virtual cell index field to be transmitted with downlink control information, DCI, is performed where the virtual cell index field length for transmitting a virtual cell index to a wireless device is dynamically settable. The method includes determining a number of configured virtual cell identities, ID. The method includes transmitting the configured virtual cell identities to the wireless device.
