The invention relates to a marine vessel comprising a hull and a propulsion arrangement. The marine vessel is further provided with at least one vertically arranged cylinder () with a cylindrical shell and with a first vertical axis (). The vertically arranged cylinder is adapted to rotate around the first vertical axis. In order to provide a flexibly adaptable arrangement suitable for various operating modes of the marine vessel, the cylindrical shell comprises at least three sections () with a curved portion extending between two ends, whereby each of the three sections is arranged to be turnable around a respective second vertical axis (), which is positioned at the circumference of the cylindrical shell. Each section is arranged to be anchored into a given position.

The invention relates to a marine vessel () comprising a hull () and a propulsion arrangement including an internal combustion engine (), an exhaust gas arrangement (), and a propulsion unit (). The marine vessel () further is provided with at least one vertically arranged cylinder () with a vertical axis, which vertically arranged cylinder () is adapted to rotate around its vertical axis. To avoid any substantial increase of windage area, the vertically arranged cylinder () is arranged around a part of the exhaust gas arrangement () of the marine vessel ().

A marine vessel power generation system comprising a conventional machinery arrangement, such as an internal combustion engine () and a generator (), a propulsion system, and a main switchboard (). In order to provide an environmental friendly power generation system, when the marine vessel enters, leaves or is in port, said system is provided with an HO operated power generation arrangement () for generating HO from seawater in order to produce electrical energy.

The invention relates to a barge arrangement comprising a barge unit with a first end () and a second end () and a tug unit provided with a propulsion unit, which barge unit is adapted to receive the tug unit at one end. In order to achieve an efficient vessel combination for loading, transport and unloading of cargo the barge unit () is adapted to receive a first tug unit () at its second end () in order to be pushed by the first tug unit () with the first end () of the barge unit () in a forward direction (F) of motion. Further, the barge unit () is adapted to receive a second tug unit () at its second end () in order to be pulled by the second tug unit () with the second end () of the barge unit () in the forward direction (F) of motion.

Arrangement for providing cooling energy to a cooling medium circuit of a marine vessel having a storage of liquefied gas, the arrangement having a gas feeding system being provided with gas evaporation/heating apparatus. The gas evaporation/heating apparatus is arranged in heat transfer connection with the cooling medium circuit of the vessel through an intermediate flow circuit.

The invention relates to fuel system for gas driven piston engine in a marine vessel, which gas is stored in at least one fuel storage tank in the vessel as liquefied gas. The fuel feeding system comprises a separate fuel feed tank in which the gas is in liquid phase and at elevated pressure. The gas is also in liquid phase in the fuel storage tank, in which, however, prevails only the hydrostatic pressure caused by the liquid gas.

The present invention relates to a propulsion arrangement for a marine vessel, which propulsion arrangement comprises an internal combustion engine, a shaft arrangement and a steerable thruster unit. The marine vessel further comprises an electric generator or a combined electric generator and motor in connection with the propulsion arrangement. In order to reduce space requirements and required equipment as well as to raise efficiency, the shaft arrangement comprises a main shaft extending from the internal combustion engine to a first angle gear and a drive shaft extending from the first angle gear to a second angle gear in the steerable thruster unit. The electric generator or the combined electric generator and motor is connected to the drive shaft of the shaft arrangement after the main shaft and the first angle gear are connected thereto.

Propulsion arrangement

A propulsion system for a marine vessel is provided with at least one skeg in its hull and with a first propulsion device provided at the stern area of the vessel for providing propulsion power. A second propulsion device is located in connection with the skeg and comprises a system for changing the direction of its thrust effect.

A marine vessel includes a hull and has at least one load carrying facility defined by at least one loading space with a given height, a given width and a given length, whereby the loading space is provided on a bulkhead deck, and a propulsion arrangement, which includes at least one steerable thruster unit connected by a shaft arrangement to a drive means. In order to provide better access to the bulkhead deck for loading and unloading the marine vessel, the steerable thruster unit is arranged below the bulkhead deck and the drive means is arranged above the loading space. The shaft arrangement comprises a substantially vertical shaft section extending from the drive means above the loading space through the given height of the loading space and to the steerable thruster unit below the bulkhead deck.

A marine vessel has at least two engines installed in separate respective engine compartments that are positioned substantially horizontally adjacent to each other and are separated from each other by a wall structure defining at least one opening provided with a floodgate arrangement. The floodgate arrangement includes a gate device that is movable between a closed position, in which the gate device blocks the opening, and an open position, in which the gate device frees the opening, and a buoyancy assisted movement actuation device for moving the gate device from its closed position to its open position under the influence of rising water level.

Arrangement in a marine vessel

A barge unit includes LNG receptacle and a first power generation apparatus including a first combustion engine that is operated at least partly by LNG boil-off gas and a first generator that is driven by the first combustion engine. A tug unit includes a propulsion system and a second power generation apparatus for providing power to the propulsion system. In a first operating mode of the barge and tug units the tug unit is connected to the barge unit for propelling the barge unit and the propulsion system of the tug unit is powered at least partly by the first power generation apparatus.

A marine vessel includes a rudder support structure attached to its hull and a rudder device attached to the rudder support structure in a manner allowing pivotal movement of the rudder device relative to the rudder support structure. A first drive train includes a first propeller shaft mounted in the hull and extending from the hull. A first propeller unit is attached to the first propeller shaft and is positioned forward of the rudder device. A second drive train includes a second propeller shaft that is mounted rotatably in the rudder support structure and a second propeller unit is attached to the second propeller shaft. The second propeller unit is aft of the first propeller unit and coaxially aligned therewith.
