The present disclosure relates to a method of immobilizing a phenolic compound having a M≥500 g/mol, wherein the method comprises the steps of ionizing the phenolic compound by subjecting it to a base; and contacting, under agitation, the ionized phenolic compound with a cross-linked resin comprising the functionality of —C(═O)—CHXCHR, wherein X is chosen from the group consisting of Br, Cl, I, CN, OMs, OTs, or OTf, and R is H, CHor an branched or unbranched alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, in the presence of a base and a solvent. The present disclosure also relates to a method of removing phenolic compounds having a M≥500 g/mol from a composition comprising compounds having at least one alkoxy silane group. The present disclosure also relates to the use of a method according to the present disclosure as well as to a product, from which at least one phenolic compound having a M≥500 g/mol has been removed by a method according to the present disclosure.

Immobilization of phenolic compounds

The present application relates to a chemical compound comprising an aromatic core, or a carbocyclic, non-aromatic, core, wherein the aromatic core is a benzene ring or a biphenyl; the carbocyclic, non-aromatic core is a 5 to 7 membered ring. The core has covalently attached thereto: at least two anchoring groups, each anchoring group comprising an activated silane group, wherein the anchoring groups have the following general formula -A-(CH)nSiY3 wherein A is a covalent bond or O, 'n' is an integer from 1 to 3, and Y is independently a methoxy group or an ethoxy group; and at least one hydrophilic group extending from the core, the hydrophilic group comprising one or more hydrophilic polymer residues with a molecular composition of (aO+bN)/(cC+dS+eSi+fP)&#x3e;0.3 where a, b, c, d, e and f are the mol percentage of oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), carbon (C), sulfur (S), silicon (Si) and phosphorus (P), respectively; wherein the hydrophilic polymer residue(s) is(are) selected, independently of each other if more than one hydrophilic group is present, from &#x2014;(O&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH)&#x2014;OX, wherein X is CHor H, and 'm' is an integer from 6 to 25; and the number of hydrophilic groups extending from the core is from one to the number of ring structures in the core. The present invention also relates to compositions comprising the chemical compound and nanostructures comprising residues of the chemical compound as well as the use of such nanostructures. Furthermore, the invention relates to methods for obtaining the chemical compounds and the nanostructures.

Chemical compounds for coating of nanostructures

Disclosed herein are globular nanostructures having a hydrodynamic diameter (D) of 8-100 nm comprising a central part and a peripheral part, wherein said central part has a calculated diameter (D) of 6-90 nm and said peripheral part has an estimated thickness (T) so that D=D+2T, wherein said central part comprises: (i) a crosslinked polymeric framework comprising monomer residues wherein at least 30% by number of the monomer residues have crosslinked thereby forming the crosslinked polymeric framework and/or (ii) a branched polymeric framework comprising monomer residues wherein the number of branch points is at least 30% of the number of monomer residues, wherein said central part comprises chelating groups of which at least 4 allow chelation of at least one multiply charged cation, wherein said chelating groups are independently selected from the group consisting of &#x2014;COOR, &#x2014;P&#x2550;O(OR)(OR), and &#x2014;S(&#x2550;O)OR, wherein Rand Rare independently selected from the group consisting of a negative charge, H, and lower alkyls, and wherein said peripheral part comprises a synthetic polymer material covalently attached to the central part, wherein the synthetic polymer material is hydrophilic and bioinert, and electrically neutral or zwitterionic. Also disclosed are compositions comprising such nanoparticles, and optionally also a radionuclide, use of such compositions, kits containing such compositions and methods for obtaining such compositions.

Disclosed herein are nanostructures comprising a polymeric framework comprising at least five geminal bisphosphonate groups, wherein the geminal bisphosphonate groups independently of each other are incorporated as &#x2014;RRC(P&#x2550;O(OR)(OR)), wherein Rand Rare independently selected from the group consisting of a negative charge, H, alkyl and aryl, and wherein at least one of Rand Ris a group connected to the polymeric framework with the proviso that when only one of Rand Ris such a connected group, the other of Rand Ris either a group being able to connect to the polymeric framework, or the residue of such a group, or selected from the group consisting of H, OH, ORand R, wherein Ris a lower alkyl. The polymeric framework may comprise manganese ions. Disclosed are also methods for producing such manganese containing nanostructures, compositions comprising such manganese containing nanostructures and use of such manganese containing nanostructures, i.a. as MRI contrasting agents.
