A printing fluid collector is described. In one example, the collector comprises a conveying mechanism for collecting printing fluid ejected from a printing fluid dispenser, and a connecting means for connecting the conveying mechanism to a printing system in an orientation such that the conveying mechanism is to collect printing fluid ejected from the printing fluid dispenser and convey the printing fluid in a direction which is substantially perpendicular to a direction of movement of a print medium along a print medium path.

There is disclosed a sheet media processing machine comprising a media inlet to receive sheet media along a feed direction from a first side of the machine and a media outlet to discharge sheet media along a discharge direction towards the first side of the machine. There is a feed mechanism to convey sheet media from the media inlet to the media outlet, and a re-feed prevention element disposed upstream of the media inlet with respect to the feed direction to inhibit recirculation of discharged sheet media along an external recirculation path between the media outlet and the media inlet. The re-feed prevention element is exposed to contact with sheet media and comprises an elastomer. There is also disclosed a feed guide comprising a re-feed prevention element, and a method in which such a feed guide is installed on a sheet media processing machine.

In an example, a print apparatus may include a print head assembly and a maintenance cartridge. An example maintenance cartridge may include a wiper system. An example wiper system may include a web wipe and a plurality of independently biased members adjacent each other with respect to a width of the web wipe. Another example wiper system may include a plurality of bias members, a plurality of carriers coupled to the plurality of bias members, and a plurality of rollers coupled to the plurality of carriers and located along a width of a wiping area.

A spittoon system for a printing mechanism includes a reservoir elongated in a longitudinal direction and having a bottom part. The reservoir receives printing fluid residue spit from a print-head onto a first zone of the reservoir. The spittoon system further includes a cleaning element arranged inside the reservoir to transfer, by sliding along the longitudinal direction of the reservoir, the received printing fluid residue from the first zone to a second zone. The second zone includes a drain outlet to drain the printing fluid residue from the reservoir.

A modular print engine unit for a media-wide array printer includes multiple printhead modules, each printhead module having printing dies, and each printing die having multiple nozzles. The modular print engine unit is independently operable relative to another modular print engine unit within the media-wide array printer.

A spittoon beam system and a printer that includes a spittoon beam system. The system has a spittoon beam spanning and movably mounted to spaced spaced parallel tracks. The spittoon beam is driven along the tracks by a first motor and a second motor coupled to respective ends of the spittoon beam. A first motor driver is coupled to the first motor and a second motor driver coupled the second motor. The system is configured so that the first motor driver controls an output shaft speed of the first motor independently of the second motor driver, and the second motor driver controls an output shaft speed of the second motor independently of the first motor driver.

A modular print engine unit for independently operable use in a media-wide array printer includes multiple printhead modules, each printhead module including multiple printing dies, and each printing die including multiple nozzles. The modular print engine unit further includes a printing fluid supply system to feed, in use, printing fluid to the multiple printhead modules; a print alignment module operable, in use, to align the multiple printhead modules; an error detection module operable, in use, to detect an operating status of the multiple nozzles; and a service sub-system operable, in use, to service the multiple nozzles.

A chain positioning system is disclosed that has a chain that contains a plurality of links joined together, end-to-end, with a plurality of pins. The chain can be moved between a retracted position and an extended position. The links of the chain limit rotation about the pins in one direction.
