A method of producing THB with improved efficiency is provided. Provided is a method of producing trihydroxybenzene (THB), the method comprising a step of heating a bacterial culture liquid comprising deoxy-scyllo-inosose (DOI) at a high temperature of no lower than 80&#xb0; C. to obtain a product solution comprising trihydroxybenzene (THB).

Trihydroxybenzene production method

A touch-type input device includes a touch panel in which drive electrodes and sensor electrodes are arranged in a grid pattern that provide capacitors. The touch-type input device also includes a controller that determines whether or not there is a touch based on data values that each indicate an amount of change in capacitance of each capacitor from a predetermined reference value. The controller sets the reference value by obtaining a parasitic capacitance of each capacitor when the touch-type input device is activated. When determining from a variation range of the parasitic capacitances of the capacitors that an erroneous reference value has been obtained, the controller re-obtains a parasitic capacitance.

Touch-type input device

A touch-type input device includes a touch panel. Capacitors are formed at intersections of drive electrodes and sensor electrodes in the touch panel. A controller determines whether the touch panel has been touched from data values, each indicating a change amount in the capacitance from a reference value. When detecting from the data values a change in the capacitance to a reverse polarity differing from the polarity when a human body touches the touch panel, the controller determines that external noise caused the change and stops detecting touching of the touch panel. When the controller detects a change in the capacitance to the reverse polarity, at the same time, the location of where the capacitance of the reverse polarity is detected does not shift, the controller determines that the change in the capacitance is irrelevant to influence of external noise and continues to detect touching of the touch panel.

A capacitance type touch panel is provided which distinguishes a noise signal with ease and detects an input operation position with high accuracy, without extensively modifying the structure of a touch panel. The capacitance type touch panel is provided with capacitance change judgment unit for comparing a voltage variation level R(n,m) of a detection electrode S(n) detected by capacitance detection unit with a detection threshold value. If the voltage variation levels R(n,m) of all the detection electrodes S(n) are equal to or more than the detection threshold value while outputting a detection signal to any drive area DV(m), it is assumed that noise occurs for the long period of outputting the detection signal to the drive area DV(m), and position detection unit does not detect the input operation position.

Capacitance type touch panel

A touch-type input device includes a touch panel including drive electrodes and sensor electrodes. Capacitors are formed at intersections of the drive electrodes and sensor electrodes. A controller determines whether a conductive foreign matter exists on the touch panel from raw data values indicating changes in the capacitances of the capacitors from initial reference values. The controller determines touching of the touch panel from control data values indicating changes in the capacitances of the capacitors from control reference values changed when a conductive foreign matter exists. When the raw data values indicate existence of a conductive foreign matter, the controller sets the control reference value of each capacitor to a raw data reference value corresponding to the present raw data value. The controller updates the initial reference value when the touch-type input device is activated and updates the control reference value when the control reference value is erroneous.

A touch type input device includes a touch panel having a sensor array of drive electrodes and sensor electrodes. Capacitors are formed at intersections of the drive electrodes and the sensor electrodes. A controller determines whether or not a conductive foreign matter exists on the touch panel from raw data values indicating a change amount in the capacitance of each capacitor from an initial reference value. Further, the controller determines whether or not the touch panel has been touched from control data values indicating a change amount in the capacitance of each capacitor from a control reference value that is changed for each capacitor in accordance with whether or not the foreign matter exists. When the raw data values indicate the existence of the foreign matter, the controller sets the control reference value of each capacitor to a raw data reference value corresponding to the present raw data value.

Touch type input device and method for detecting touching of touch panel

Provided is an operating device that suppresses differences in operational feeling resulting from the amount of sensitivity of a detection subject. The operating device () includes a touch panel () that outputs a first capacitance in accordance with the distance between a finger and an operation surface (), a determination unit () that determines contact to the operation surface () by the finger by comparing the first capacitance acquired from the touch panel () and a pre-set first threshold (), a discrimination unit () that, after contact has been determined by the determination unit (), discriminates on the basis of the first capacitance the amount of sensitivity of the finger contributing to the capacitance detected by the touch panel (), an alteration unit () that alters the first threshold () to a second threshold () on the basis of the amount of sensitivity of the finger discriminated by the discrimination unit (), and a control unit () that detects an operation by the finger by comparing a second capacitance acquired by the touch panel () to the second threshold () acquired from the alteration unit ().

Operating device

A plurality of detection electrodes S(n) are allocated to any one of two or more detection electrode groups SG(k) so that the detection electrodes S(n) to be allocated to each of the detection electrode groups SG(k) are disposed at equal intervals and spaced apart from each other by at least one detection electrode S(n) in the direction of detection. In each of the two or more detection electrode groups SG(k), the detection electrodes S(n) allocated to the detection electrode group SG(k) are sequentially selected in the direction of detection so as to compare the detection voltage levels R(n) that each appear on a set of detection electrodes S(n) and S(n+1) that are adjacent to each other in the direction of detection.

Capacitive touch panel

A capacitive touch input device capable of detecting two or more different input positions and detecting each input position within a short period of time is provided. One of two or more drive electrodes respectively belonging to drive electrode group DV(n) and a drive electrode group DV(n') adjacent to each other is a common drive electrode arranged therebetween. A pitch between the drive electrodes arranged at equal intervals is set so that a change in a detection voltage level R(m,n) appears at a detection electrode S(m) arranged in the vicinity of an input operator when a drive control unit performs drive control of the drive electrode group DV(n) and the input operator is at a position distant from the drive electrode group DV(n) up to an intermediate position of the adjacent drive electrode group DV(n&#x2032;).

Capacitive touch input device

A touch input device includes a touch panel, a controller, and a cancellation electrode. The touch panel includes a sensor pattern and an operation surface arranged above the sensor pattern. The sensor pattern includes first electrodes and second electrodes insulated from one another and arranged in a grid. The controller applies a drive pulse signal to the sensor pattern and detects a touch location where the operation surface of the touch panel is touched based on changes in capacitance of the sensor pattern. A cancellation pulse signal is applied to the cancellation electrode during application of the drive pulse signal. The cancellation pulse signal has a phase inverted from that of the drive pulse signal.

Changes of the stray capacitances of a large number of sensing electrodes can be detected simultaneously. Further, even if a stray capacitance changes slightly, an input operation to a sensing electrode can be detected based on elapsed time until the electric potential of the sensing electrode becomes the same as a threshold potential. The stray capacitance of a sensing electrode and a resistor of the sensing electrode form a CR time constant circuit. Charge or discharge of the stray capacitance of the sensing electrode is controlled while a rest time in a predetermined time ratio is set. A stray capacitance that slightly increases in response to an input operation made near a sensing electrode can be detected by detecting the stray capacitance in extended elapsed time until the electric potential of the sensing electrode becomes the same as the threshold potential.

A capacitive touch panel can select a way of voltage control with a high degree of detection accuracy according to operating environment. In response to approach of an input unit, the stray capacitance of the sensing electrode the input unit approached increases. Accordingly, charge and discharge of the stray capacitances of a plurality of sensing electrodes are controlled, and a sensing electrode the potential change of which is made slow by the increase in stray capacitance and resultant increase in time constant is detected as a sensing electrode the input unit approached. The stray capacitance of a sensing electrode can selectively be controlled either by the charge control or by the discharge control, and optimum one of the controls is selected according to operating environment.

A coordinate inputting device includes an X+ electrode having a plurality of X+ branch patterns extending from one side to the other side in the X direction, an X&#x2212; electrode having a plurality of X&#x2212; branch patterns extending from one side to the other side in the X direction, a Y+ electrode having a plurality of Y+ branch patterns extending from one side to another side in the Y direction, and a Y&#x2212; electrode having a plurality of Y&#x2212; branch patterns extending from one side to the other side in the Y direction. An X, Y coordinate position of an object is detected from, respectively, the difference between the floating capacitances of the X+ electrode and X&#x2212; electrode, and the difference between the floating capacitances of Y+ electrode and Y&#x2212; electrode, which change according to the surface area of the electrodes in proximity to the object to be detected.

Coordinate input device

An instruction inputting device detects input operations in the XY plane and in a rotational direction on a hemispherical input operation surface. Four detection electrodes insulated from each other are formed at 90&#xb0; intervals around the Z axis of the hemisphere, on the surface of a spherical crown-shaped insulator. Surface areas of each of the detection electrodes decrease moving toward an apex P on the Z axis and moving in a circumferential direction away from the positions at which the 90&#xb0; intervals are formed. As a result, the surface areas of the detection electrodes facing an object to be detected for causing the input operation differ depending on the positioning of the object, thereby causing differences in the floating capacitances of the detection electrodes which are sensed by a circuit portion of the device.

Instruction inputting device

A remote control transmitter includes a transparent protective filter that covers a light emitting device in the light emitting direction. The filter is formed as a strip shaped, long and thin plate that is made from a transparent material that has a refractive index that is larger at least than that of air. The transparent protective filter, is attached so that it is oriented frontwards from the front surface of the case so that one end surface in the longitudinal directions opposes the light emitting device. The optical control signal that is emitted from the light emitting device is emitted from another end surface of the transparent protective filter, such that the optical control signal is not blocked by the finger that grasps the case, even if that case is formed with a size such that it can be grasped with one hand.
