A method of automatically inserting terminals with wires into desired terminal accommodating cavities in a connector housing after putting neighboring wires aside, and a wire sweeping arm and a driving device for the sweeping arm. The method includes the steps of: grasping the terminal with wire by terminal supporting hands and wire supporting hands; moving the wire sweeping arm in the direction that the wire sweeping arm sweep wires which are already accommodated in neighboring terminal accommodating cavities, the wire sweeping arm being disposed between the terminal accommodating cavities and the terminal supporting hands so as to move back and forth; moving the wire supporting hands and the terminal supporting hands toward the connector housing to insert the terminal with wire into the terminal accommodating cavity.

Apparatus for inserting terminal with wire and driving a wire sweeping arm

An automatic bundling machine comprises a pair of feed rollers respectively positioned at opposite sides of a band passage; a band-feeding actuator for rotating at least one of the feed rollers; a one-way clutch and a friction clutch mounted between the band-feeding rotary actuator and the feed rollers; a pair of hooks with a band receiving groove formed in an inner surface of the pair of hooks and communicating with the band passage; a flange portion formed on a nose of a rotor for twisting a band, band channels formed on the flange-shaped portion; and a pair of clamps, one end of which are axially supported by the flange-shaped portion and the other end of which are engaged with each of the hooks.

Method of inserting terminal with wire and apparatus therefor

The method of making a flat wiring harness consists of a pre-shaping process, a shaping process, and a wire bonding process. In the pre-shaping process, the intertwined wires are combed to be smoothed and straightened out and are pushed by a press block into parallelly arranged grooves in a series of longitudinally lined jigs and kept therein by a cover. In the shaping process, the group of wires thus laid in parallel lines in a series of the grooved jigs are shaped into a desired pattern of the flat wiring harness by moving any desired grooved jigs horizontally along guide slots formed in a holder plate, on which the grooved jigs and associated components are mounted. In the bonding process, the shaped flat wire group is applied with adhesive on one side through a screen which is patterned according to the shape of a final flat wiring harness. As the adhesive hardens, the wires are bonded together and a flat wiring harness of a desired two-dimensional shape is obtained. This method allows the wires of different sizes to be bonded together. It also permits the formation of branch wires at any locations from the trunk.
