This disclosure provides a method for producing a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) or fluoroolefin (FO), which is a target compound, with high selectivity, without requiring a high temperature and a catalyst in a synthesis process of the target compound. Specifically, the present disclosure provides a method for producing a hydrofluoroolefin or fluoroolefin having two, three, or four carbon atoms, comprising irradiating at least one starting material compound selected from the group consisting of hydrofluorocarbons having one or two carbon atoms and hydrofluoroolefin As having two or three carbon atoms with ionizing radiation and/or an ultraviolet ray having a wavelength of 300 nm or less, with the proviso that when the at least one starting material compound is the hydrofluoroolefin A, the resulting hydrofluoroolefin is different from the hydrofluoroolefin A.

Manufacturing method for hydrofluoroolefin or fluoroolefin

Provided is a method for efficiently obtaining HFO-1132(E) and/or HFO-1132(Z). The method includes supplying a composition containing HFO-1132(E) and/or HFO-1132(Z) to a reactor to perform isomerization between HFO-1132(E) and HFO-1132(Z) by irradiating the composition with light.

Method for producing difluoroethylene

Provided is a method for obtaining HFO-1132(E) and/or HFO-1132(Z) efficiently. In an ophthalmic measuring method, a traceable marker in particulate form is administered to the lachrymal fluid of a subject's eye, and the lachrymal fluid is irradiated with illuminating light. Images of the illuminated lachrymal fluid are electronically captured respectively at different times. Two images from among the captured images are selected, with each of the two selected images displaying the traceable marker. A characteristic point of each of the two selected images is specified. A movement speed of the traceable marker is measured based on positions thereof in the two selected images and on a time difference from specifying the characteristic point of one of the two selected images to specifying the characteristic point of the other of the two selected images. The measured movement speed of the traceable marker is outputted as the movement speed of the lachrymal fluid of the subject's eye.

A water-dilutable emulsion lubricant for machining, exhibiting improved dispersibility and emulsion stability, by emulsifying an oil system, composed of a base oil and an effective amount of fine particles of boron nitride of a crystalline turbostratic structure, dispersed in the base oil, in a water system, using an emulsifier. The lubricant is free from heavy metals, e.g., molybdenum disulfide and useful for machining difficult-to-cut materials such as Ti alloys and Inconel. A polyfluoroalkyl iodide is reacted with a (meth)acrylic acid metal salt to form a corresponding polyfluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate ester. The polyfluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate ester is separated from the reaction product through the evaporation, so that the ester is recovered. According to the present method, the polyfluoroalkyl iodide is reacted with the (meth)acrylic acid metal salt without introducing water, thus making it possible to prepare a polyfluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate ester. The resulting ester can also be used to copolymerize an ethylenically unsaturated compound capable of copolymerizing with the ester.

A mixture of boric acid anhydride and urea is charged in a reaction vessel together with alkali-borate, heated step by step in the vessel in an nonoxidizing gas atmosphere of one atmospheric pressure or above, and kept at a temperature from 850&deg; C. to 950&deg; C. to yield an intermediate product formal substantially of an amorphous boron nitride powder (first reaction step). Then the intermediate product is heated and kept at a temperature from 1200&deg; C. to 1400&deg; C. to crystallize crystalline t-BN, and the product is purified by washing with water and aqueous solution to obtain pure crystalline t-BN powder.

A liquid crystal display driver has a system of driving a plurality of segments with 1/n duty binary voltages. In the system, one frame period has the following three sub-periods; the first sub-period, where the line sequential driving is performed, the second sub-period, where adjustment is made on the segment voltage dispersion which occurs depending on display patterns, and the third sub-period, which is at the other time span than the first and the second sub-periods in the same frame period, where the potentials of the common signals and those of the segment signals are identical. With this driving method, constant Von/Voff ratio is obtained, and the contrast dispersion and crosstalk, which occur depending on a display pattern, are mostly eliminated. Then a good display quality is obtainable, and also the effective values of the voltages applied to the liquid crystal, are adjustable irrespective to the power source voltage.
