A ship navigation assisting device includes: an area setterthat sets, for a target ship, a polygonal safe navigation area defined by a plurality of vertices and surrounding the target ship; a collision point calculatorthat calculates, based on a speed of the own ship, a relative position between the own ship and the target ship, and a velocity vector of the target ship, collision points between each of the plurality of vertices constituting the safe navigation area and the own ship; and a collision danger area calculatorthat connects the plurality of collision points calculated by the collision point calculatorto calculate a collision danger area.

Ship navigation assisting device

A demultiplexer for separating different format packets from a multiplexed data stream. Each packet format has a different type of header which is analyzed based on micro-codes read out in sequence from a command memory. By using micro-codes, the demultiplexer minimizes the circuitry required to process multiple formats (e.g. digital video broadcasting (DVB), digital satellite system (DSS), and digital versatile disc (DVD)). The packets are separated and sent to their respective destinations based on the packet ID read from each header.

Demultiplexer for handling different multiplexed data formats

A general-purpose processor performs high-speed variable-length decoding. The general-purpose processor includes a video data register for exclusively storing the variable-length code that stores data having a length larger than the maximum length of the variable code to be decoded. The general-purpose processor also includes a data counter register for exclusively storing the length of the data in the video data register which has not been decoded, as well as a pointer register for exclusively storing the address of the variable-length code to be read out next from a bit stream stored in memory. The general-purpose processor also includes an ALU for performing general purpose operations, and decodes the variable-length code stored in the video data register by controlling the video data register, the data counter register, and the pointer register.

A signal processing apparatus includes a first loop circuit for adjusting gains of a plurality of variable gain amplifiers to which signals output from a charge-coupled device (CCD) imager of multiple-channel reading type are applied, a control circuit for driving and controlling an iris in accordance with output signals from the plurality of variable gain amplifiers, a second loop circuit for adjusting levels of pilot signals to be superimposed upon the output signals of the CCD imager at a desired level, respectively, a third loop circuit for controlling levels of the pilot signals which are superimposed upon the output signals of the CCD imager so as to be coincident with each other, and a control unit for controlling the first loop circuit and the control circuit, the second loop circuit, and the third loop circuit so that they are operated in a time-division fashion.

Signal processing apparatus

A navigation supporting display apparatus makes it easy for an operator of ship to navigate with a safe passing distance between own ship and a target by indicating an exact danger area between own ship and the target ship. The apparatus has a collision point calculator which calculates a possible collision point of each of the vertexes of a polygonal safe passing region set around own ship, and the target ship, from a relative position of the target ship, a velocity vector of the target ship and a velocity of own ship. The apparatus has an own-ship-mapping-position calculator which calculates a position at which own ship would be located when each of the vertexes places on the collision point, and defines the position as a own-ship-mapping-position. The apparatus further has a danger area calculator which determines lines joining own-ship-mapping-positions corresponding to the collision points with each other to define a danger area. The relation between connected own-ship-mapping-positions and the own-ship-mapping-positions are output to a display device, and the display device displays the area defined by the lines joining own-ship-mapping-positions as a danger area together with the position and the vector of own ship and the position of the target ship.

Navigation display apparatus for collison avoidance utilizing polygonal

A carrier level balancing circuit in which a color aliasing signal occurring when a cameraman takes a picture of an object of an achromatic (black and white) color can be canceled completely. In a carrier level balancing circuit for a color camera formed of a CCD solid state image pickup device of an all pixel separately read out system, two-channel color signals output from the CCD solid state image pickup device are multiplied with independent balance coefficients at every line by multipliers while the balance coefficients are switched in a dot-sequential fashion. Also, values of these balance coefficients are set by a coefficient setting circuit in response to color temperature information. Thus, the carrier levels can be balanced over a range of color temperatures.
