An instrument includes a holder for holding a medium, a cap capable of covering a tip end portion of the medium, and a knock member provided to be capable of knocking to attach and detach the cap. The cap is connected to the knock member via a rotational transform mechanism. The rotational transform mechanism advances the cap in accordance with one knock of the knock member in the axial direction, the rotational transform mechanism rotates the cap around an axis parallel to the axial direction, then retreats the cap, so that the state in which the cap covers the tip end portion of the medium and the state in which the cap allows the tip end portion of the medium to be exposed are switchable for each knock of the knock member.

Instrument

A click-type writing implement with reduced diameter by suppressed swerving of writing element during advancing and with improved easiness of assembling and improved ornamental appearance, comprising manipulator pieces on outside; actuator pieces respectively advanced or retracted by the manipulator pieces; a main shaft arranging writing elements as forward and rearward slidable; springs respectively applying rearward stress on the actuator pieces. The each actuator piece has a first and second projecting portions, which protrude laterally respectively at forefront portion and at a rearward portion distanced from the forefront portion. The main shaft has an inner face comprised of a small-internal-diameter portion in vicinity of rearmost retracted position of the second projecting portion. The second projecting portion has a cam face for creating outward propelling force when two of the second projecting portions axially bear with each other.

Push-out-type writing implement

A mechanical pencil in which the lead is advanced by squeezing a cylindrical depression member provided at the position of the writer's fingers during normal writing operations. The pencil includes a hollow body with front and rear axial sleeves. A chuck is disposed within the pencil body which has a resiliency which urges the chuck to open outwardly at the front end thereof. A slider including a lead holding member for lightly holding the lead is slidably positioned at the tip of the front axial sleeve. Means is provided for transmitting movement from the depression member, which is formed of a resilient material flush with the cylindrical surface of the pencil body, for transmitting movement from the depression member to the chuck. A lead casing means is disposed in the rear axial sleeve which in some embodiments has the dual function of transmitting movement from a push button provided at the rear of the pencil to the chuck for advancing the lead in a conventional manner.

Mechanical pencil with chuck closing by normal writing grip

Mechanical pencil construction wherein the operational movements to advance the lead are accomplished by providing one or more elastically deformable ribs or spring biased cam members that extend outwardly through axial slots in the pencil body in the normal finger gripping area. The radially inward depression of such ribs or cam members by the writer's fingers is converted to axial motion within the pencil, to thereby effect the necessary lead gripping and advancing operations.

A mechanical pencil having a main hollow body including a first body member and a second body member with a mouth opening at an end and the first body member being rotatable with respect to the second body member and the first and second body members engaged with each other. A slider is retractable from the opening of the main hollow body and has a lead retainer for frictionally gripping lead and a lead case containing extra leads therein is disposed to the rear and is so biased. A lead gripping chuck is connected at the rear end thereof to said lead case and chuck tightening mechanism receives and tightens the chuck and advancing the chuck relative to the mechanism to supply a new lead having a predetermined length from the opening of the slider. The rotational movement of the first body member is transferred to reciprocating movement of the chuck tightening mechanism so that a new lead is supplied from the opening of the main hollow body by the rotation of the first body member.

Mechanical pencil

A retractable pen includes a slide cylinder (1) axially coupled to a push tube (17) and slidably but non-rotatably disposed in a surrounding body cylinder (25) and biased toward a retracted position therein by an internal spring (24). The front end of the slide cylinder defines an axially offset open hole (3) and an internal blind hole (3'), and a refill cartridge (8) having an axially offset writing tip (9) and a support tube 11 axially coupled to the cartridge are disposed within the slide cylinder/push tube unit and rotatably but non-slidably coupled to the body cylinder. A grooved cam wall (5) and axially spaced cam ring (16) on the inner surface of the slide cylinder cooperate with cam followers (13) on the outer surface of the support tube, whereby the depression and release of the push tube sequentially effects the extension of the slide cylinder, the 180.degree. rotation of the cartridge and tip, and the retraction of the slide cylinder, to thus transfer the tip between a writing position whereat it extends through the slide cylinder open hole and a retracted position whereat it is protectively seated in the internal blind hole. The cam wall is configured as two elongated slots spaced 180.degree. apart and joined by convex oblique edges, the cam ring edge defines a zig-zag surface matched to but spaced from and slightly rotationally offset from the cam wall oblique edges, and the cam followers are trapezoidal in shape.

Retractable pen with internal tip seating

A mechanical pencil having a mouth piece 5 extendable and retractable in and out of the end portion 3 of a main body 1, and a tip sleeve 14 extendable and retractable in and out of the end portion of the mouth piece 5. The mouth piece is extendable or retractable by fully depressing a push cap 2, while the lead may be inched forward by partially depressing the push cap. The tip sleeve protects the lead, and is designed to automatically move inwardly in response to writing pressure, to thereby always expose the end of the lead for writing.

A multi-color mechanical writing instrument which contains ink tubes or reservoirs, a rotary cam having a blocking section, an inner flange or a stopper which enables a writing tip to be pushed out which is positioned underneath a cam body with a push-bar inside a rear casing, and where the inner surface of the rear casing is shaped in the form of cam walls in order to have the rotary cam turn back and forth along the cam walls with the movement of pushing the push-bar to push the tip of an ink tube out or pull it back alternatively.

Multi-color mechanical writing instrument

A suction nozzle device for a cleanser foam suction apparatus or a vacuum cleaner. The suction nozzle device comprises an intake and a suction duct. The intake has therein a guide wall means completely partitioning the hollow space of the intake into a plurality of flow passages. The guide wall means projects at its leading edge substantially beyond the lower end of the peripheral wall of the intake so as to leave one of the flow passages open to the atomosphere when the suction nozzle device is placed on a surface to be treated. The suction duct extends from the intake, and has a throttle portion formed just behind the trailing edge of the guide wall means and a diffuser succeeding the throttle portion so as to cause ejection effect at the throttle portion by the jet flow of air, which the air enters from one of the flow passages open to the atmosphere. The guide wall means may be at least one guide vane longitudinally arranged within the intake having an elongated suction opening, or may be an upside-down funnel-shaped member supported within the intake having a circular suction opening.
