Disclosed is a coin chute protector for a self-service terminal. The coin chute protector may comprise a body having a first surface and a second surface. The second surface may define a channel arranged to direct a liquid toward a first edge of the second surface. The coin chute protector may be sized to fit within an indentation defined by a coin chute of the self-service terminal.

An electronic price label battery storage apparatus and replacement method which maintains power to a memory within the electronic price label during removal and replacement of batteries. The battery storage apparatus includes a first electrical contact for simultaneously providing a first electrical path to first polarity sides of a plurality of batteries within the electronic price label, a second electrical contact for simultaneously providing a second electrical path to second polarity sides of the plurality of batteries, and a retainer which maintains at least a single one of the batteries in contact with the first and second electrical contacts during removal of other batteries to maintain power to the memory within the electronic price label.

A printed circuit board includes at least one code establishing section which is readily removable or separated from the board and also includes printed wiring connected to a voltage source and to a ground. When the code establishing section is removed, the level of an output signal from the voltage source is inverted from the level of the output signal prior to removal of the code establishing section in order to establish a desired unique code. A second arrangement of the apparatus includes a main portion and two removable portions of the board with a pair of voltage sources on the main portion and a ground connection on one of the two removable portions. The method of establishing a unique address code is accomplished by removing one of the removable portions to provide an output signal of a level that is inverted from the level of an original signal. Subsequent removal of the other removable portion provides an output signal of a level that is the same level as the original signal.
