The rigid vinyl chloride resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a vinyl chloride resin having an average degree of polymerization of 350 to 600, 5 to 30 parts by weight of an impact-resistant improver, and 5 to 20 parts by weight of an acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer having a weight ratio acrylonitrile and styrene of 1/99 to 9/91. This composition has good impact strength and fluidity.

Rigid vinyl chloride resin composition

Proposed is a polyvinyl chloride-based resin composition exhibiting excellent moldability with high flowability in molding and capable of giving molded articles having excellent mechanical properties including tensile strength and impact strength as well as heat resistance along with high resistance against yellowing by weathering. The resin composition comprises (a) a homopolymeric polyvinyl chloride resin having an average degree of polymerization of 700 to 2500, (b) an acrylic rubber-based graft copolymer, (c) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymeric resin of a specific copolymerization ratio and (d) an acrylonitrile-styrene copolymeric resin of a specific copolymerization ratio each in a specified weight proportion.

Polyvinyl chloride-based resin composition

Disclosed is a novel polyvinyl chloride-based resin composition having good workability in molding and capable of giving a shaped article having excellent mechanical properties such as impact strength. The resin composition comprises: (a) 100 parts by weight of a polyvinyl chloride resin having an average degree of polymerization of 500 to 2500; (b) from 4 to 15 parts by weight of an ABS or MBS resin; (c) from 1 to 7 parts by weight of an SBR; (d) from 1 to 10 parts by weight of an AS resin; and (e) from 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane.

The room temperature curable organopolysiloxane composition of the invention comprises a dimethylpolysiloxane terminated at both molecular chain ends with silanolic hydroxy groups, an organocyclopolysiloxane, typically a cyclotetrasiloxane, having 2 or more alkenyloxy groups such as isopropenyloxy groups in a molecule as a crosslinking agent for the dimethylpolysiloxane and a guanidyl-containing organosilane or polysiloxane compound as a curing catalyst. The composition is capable of giving a cured rubbery elastomer when kept in a moisture-containing atmosphere at room temperature without the problems in the prior art compositions such as noxious condensation products or poor adhesion to the surface of the substrate on which the composition has been cured. The above mentioned organocyclopolysiloxane having alkenyloxy groups along with one or more of trihydrocarbylsiloxy groups or, typically, trimethylsiloxy groups bonded to the silicon atoms in the ring structure is a novel compound not described in any prior art literatures.

Organocyclopolysiloxane and a room temperature curable composition

A novel method is provided for placing a covering layer of a cured organopolysiloxane composition onto the surface of a shaped article of a vinyl chloride resin in order to improve or mask the defective surface properties of articles made of vinyl chloride resins. The method comprises treating the surface of a vinyl chloride resin article with a low temperature plasma of gas, placing a covering layer of a curable organopolysiloxane composition on the so-treated surface of the articles and subjecting the article with the curable organopolysiloxane composition to curing conditions for the organopolysiloxane composition. The adhesive bonding between the vinyl chloride resin article and the layer of the cured organopolysiloxane composition, e.g. cured room temperature-vulcanizable silicone rubbers, is so strong and durable that very long service life of the article is ensured in a variety of application fields.
