A channel display device for a receiver which receives television or radio broadcast waves and detects field intensity levels of individual channels to thereby detect receivable stations. A switch pattern for selection of the receivable stations is visually represented on a display screen. A touch switch overlay is provided for outputting a desired-channel switching signal in response to an operator's actuating touch on the switch pattern. Due to such visual representation of the switch pattern and the provision of the touch switch function, switchover to a desired channel can be performed with facility to ensure high operational efficiency.

A navigation system for a movable body wherein a map to be displayed on a screen can be selected freely in accordance with a request of an operator and, when an initial map displayed is restored, the operator can find out a current position of the movable body readily. The navigation system comprises a memory in which map data are stored, a position detector for detecting a current position of the movable body, and a display unit having a screen on which a map based on part of the map data and a current position mark based on a current position from the position detector are normally displayed on the screen. When an operator wants to see an adjacent portion contiguous to the map displayed, one of four scroll key patterns displayed on the screen is selectively touched to cause the map and current position mark on the screen to be scrolled. If a map returning pattern displayed on the screen is touched, the initial map is restored and the current position mark is displayed in position on the map. If the current position mark is out of position then, a correction pattern on the screen is touched to cause the current position mark to be displayed in position on the map.

Navigation system for movable body

According to the present invention, the driving timing for each segment in a segment type digital display unit can be controlled independently on the basis of either one or both of the lighting history of each segment stored in a memory section and a detected temperature from a temperature detector mounted near segments. Therefore, the discriminatability particularly at low temperatures can be improved with little influence of the temperature and lighting history of segments.

A terminal signal operation apparatus is disclosed for transmitting in a multiplex transmission system in both directions signals between the terminal signal operation apparatus and a central operation apparatus for centrally generating control signals for controlling a plurality of electrical devices at terminals in accordance with a signal generated by a signal source. The terminal signal operation apparatus includes a signal separation circuit for detecting the control signals transmitted from the central operation apparatus, a driving circuit whose input is connected to the output of the signal separation circuit for driving an electrical device in accordance with the control signals, a return signal generating circuit for generating a signal for transmission to the central operation apparatus upon detection of a malfunction of the electrical device or a malfunction of the signal source or a signal from the signal source so that the signals in both directions between the terminal signal operation apparatus and the central operation apparatus can be processed by a single circuit.

Terminal signal operation apparatus

A central processing apparatus for use in a system which includes a plurality of remote electrical devices and a multiplex signal transmission line coupled to each of the plurality of devices. The central processing apparatus comprises an input unit coupled to the multiplex signal transmission line for receiving state signals from the plurality of devices in a time division multiplex format representing the states of the plurality of devices; an output unit coupled to the multiplex signal transmission line for transmitting logically processed signals to the plurality of devices in a time division multiplex format to control the plurality of devices; a logic processor responsive to the receiving of the state signals to generate the logically processed signals; a memory coupled to the logic processor, the input unit, and the output unit, for storing the state signals received from the plurality of devices and the logically processed signals generated by the logic processor; and a stored program control section coupled to the memory, the logic processor, the input unit, and the output unit for controlling the operation thereof.

A control apparatus for controlling a plurality of electrical devices comprising a plurality of electrical devices, a central operation device for generating a plurality of control signals for controlling the electrical devices, the plurality of control signals comprising a first signal for driving a first electrical device and a second signal delayed in time from the first signal to permit discontinuance of the driving of the first electrical device if a high current is detected passing therethrough, a terminal operation device for each electrical device, a signal transmission line for transmitting the plurality of control signals from the central operation device to the terminal operation devices, a first terminal operation device for driving the first electrical device comprising a signal division circuit for dividing from the plurality of control signals said first and second signals, a driving circuit connected to the signal division circuit for driving the first electrical device in response to said first signal, a state detecting circuit for detecting a high current in the first electrical device, a state signal generating circuit connected to the state detecting circuit, the signal division circuit and the driving circuit for deactivating the driving circuit to discontinue the driving of the first electrical device only upon receipt of a signal from the state detecting circuit indicating high current in the first electrical device and receipt at the same time of said second signal, said second signal being delayed in time from said first signal so that high transient starting current in the first electrical device has subsided by the time of said second signal so that driving of the first electrical device will be discontinued when high current is present therein with the exception of the presence of high transient starting current.

Control apparatus for electrical devices

An electrical device control system comprising: a plurality of signal sources; a plurality of electrical loads; a central operation apparatus; a plurality of terminal operation apparatus connected to the plurality of electrical loads and having means to detect the operation and a fault of the signal source and a fault of the electrical load and to generate a time division signal thereof; a multiple signal transmission line connecting the plurality of terminal operation apparatus to the central operation apparatus to transmit the time division signal to the central operation apparatus; the central operating apparatus having means to generate an activating signal for transmission over the multiple signal transmission line to the terminal station apparatus to operate an electrical load in response to the detection of the time division signal.

State detecting apparatus comprising: first, second and third terminals, first and second potential detecting circuits each having an input and an output, a resistance, means connecting the inputs of the first and second potential detecting circuits to the first terminal, means connecting the resistance between the first terminal and a power source, means connecting the output of the first potential detecting circuit to the second terminal, means connecting the output of the second potential detecting circuit to the third terminal.
