A gas barrier sheet comprising a substrate, an anchor film formed on one surface of the substrate, and a gas barrier film formed on the anchor film, the anchor film comprising a siloxane polymer composed of a siloxane compound and a compound A having in its molecule a functional group that can react with hydroxyl group in the siloxane compound, the gas barrier film being a SiNOfilm (x=0.5-1.5, y=0.15-1). The gas barrier sheet has good transparency and high heat resistance, hardly curls, and is excellent in hard coating property, in gas-barrier properties and in the adhesion between its constituent films. Particularly, the gas barrier sheet remains uncurled and retains its gas-barrier properties even after it has undergone a heat cycle test which is carried out to test the durability of an organic EL display or the like.

Gas barrier sheet

There is provided a gas barrier sheet that has high productivity, good gas barrier properties, and anticurling properties. In particular, a gas barrier sheet is provided that, even after a heat cycle test which is performed as a durability test for organic EL displays and the like, can suppress the occurrence of curling and can maintain gas barrier properties. The gas barrier sheet comprises a gas barrier filmprovided on a base material. The gas barrier filmis an SiNOfilm, wherein x=0.5 to 1.5 and y=0.25 to 1, has an absorption intensity of IR absorption (830 cmto 840 cm), corresponding to an Si&#x2014;N bond, per unit thickness of 0.5&#xd7;10/nm to 1.8&#xd7;10/nm and has a refractive index of 1.7 to 2.1.

A gas barrier film, a display substrate and a display using the gas barrier film. The gas barrier film includes a base material film having a deflection temperature under load of 150&#xb0; C. or above, and at least a gas barrier layer and a smoothing layer in that order, or a smoothing layer and a gas barrier layer in that order provided on the base material film. Preferably, the base material film is polyethylene naphthalate, the gas barrier layer is formed of an inorganic oxide, an inorganic oxynitride, an inorganic oxycarbide, or an inorganic oxycarbonitride, and the smoothing layer formed of a cardo polymer, sol-gel, or a material containing an acryl structure.
