A developing device includes a developer bearer, a first conveying screw conveying developer from one end to another end of a first conveyance path in a first direction, a second conveying screw conveying the developer in a direction opposite to the first direction in a second conveyance path, and a partition having a first communication port communicating the one end of the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path. A shaft diameter of the first conveying screw from one end to a position away from the first communication port by a first predetermined distance is smaller than a shaft diameter of another portion of the first conveying screw. A shaft diameter of the second conveying screw from one end to a position away from the first communication port by a second predetermined distance is larger than a shaft diameter of another portion of the second conveying screw.

A developing device of developing a latent image formed on an image bearer includes a developing roller, a developer regulator of a round-bar shape, and a holder. The developing roller carries developer. The developer regulator faces the developing roller to regulate an amount of the developer carried on a surface of the developing roller. The holder has a first hole, a second hole, and a projection. An end of the developer regulator is inserted in the first hole. A shaft at an end of the developing roller is inserted in the second hole. The projection protrudes toward an inside of the at least one of the first hole or the second hole and holds the end of the developer regulator and the shaft.

A powder collection container includes a container body, a conveying screw, a shaft portion, and a screw portion. The container body has a collection port from which powder is to flows into the container body. The conveying screw includes a shaft portion and a screw portion. The shaft portion extends in an axial direction of the conveying screw. The screw portion is wound around the shaft portion. The conveying screw rotates in a specified direction to convey the powder, which has flowed into the container body, toward an end of the conveying screw in the axial direction. The conveying screw includes a non-screw portion around which no screw portion is wound at least one position of the shaft portion between the collection port and the end of the conveying screw in the axial direction.

There is provided a measuring device (dial gauge) capable of performing measurement with a desired measuring force regardless of the posture of the measuring device. A dial gauge in an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a measuring force adjustment unit provided to a body case and capable of moving and being positioned and fixed in a direction substantially parallel to a moving direction of a spindle. A biasing means has one end directly or indirectly engaged with the spindle and the other end directly or indirectly engaged with the measuring force adjustment unit, and biases the spindle toward a tip end. The measuring force adjustment unit includes an external thread portion and a connection supporting member having one end screwed with the external thread portion and the other end coupled to the biasing means. The connection supporting member is screw-fed by rotationally operating the external thread portion in such a manner that a position of the connection supporting member is changed and fixed.

A digital micrometer includes a main-body frame, a spindle, a thimble part, and a displacement detector that detects displacement of the spindle. The main-body frame includes a U-shaped frame part, and a spindle holding part provided on the other end side of the U-shaped frame part and having a length in a direction away from an anvil. The spindle is held by a spindle holding part, provided to be movable forward and backward in an axial direction with respect to the anvil, and includes a contactor on one end face. A caliper measurement force detecting device includes a fixed unit that is securely attached to a slider so as not to displace relative to the slider; a movable unit that is provided to allow a slight displacement relative to the fixed unit along a direction parallel to a displacement direction of the slider; and pressure detectors that are arranged between the fixed unit and the movable unit and are provided so as to detect pressure applied in the direction parallel to the displacement direction of the slider. The rotation portion is configured to contact a wall of the image forming apparatus or the removable component in a state in which the rotation portion maintains a posture in a direction of attachment of the powder container to the image forming apparatus or the removable component and is rotatable together with an engagement portion, which is opposed to the wall, of the image forming apparatus or the removable component while engaging the engagement portion, without hindering the powder container from moving in the direction of attachment, to restrain the powder container from moving in a direction of detachment from the image forming apparatus or the removable component.
