A saddle-type vehicle that allows common use of a handle switch with a vehicle having no advancing-backing function and can suppress increase in the number of switches and the lowering of the layout efficiency of the switches. A saddle-type vehicle has a reverse mode setting input part that sets a reverse mode in which backing driving of the saddle-type vehicle is permitted and a control system that disables shift operation of a transmission by a shift-down switch and a shift-up switch and causes the saddle-type vehicle to advance through operation of the shift-down switch and to back through operation of the shift-up switch when the reverse mode is set.

Saddle-type vehicle

A shift drive mechanism for a multi-speed transmission in which a shift rod can be stably maintained at a desired fixed position without the need for an intermittent drive mechanism and which is small in size and low in cost. The shift drive mechanism for a multi-speed transmission includes a shift guide groove G formed in a shift drum so as to guide a shift pin moved in the axial direction together with the shift rod. Each of gear speed groove portions Gs is formed at axial-direction positions determined on a gear speed basis and directing the shift pin only to the circumferential direction or not moving the shift pin in the axial direction attendant on turning of the shift drum is set to be longer than the distance the shift drum travels idly from the moment of stop of driving of a shift actuator.

Shift drive mechanism for multi-speed transmission

A seat heating element and electronic temperature selector is provided for use in a motorcycle or other saddle-type vehicle, driven by an engine as a source of power. A vehicle seat is provided with first and second heating elements, and the temperature selector controls a supply of electric power to the heating elements, to warm up the vehicle seat. The control unit includes first and second electric relays for use in temporarily blocking power from the electric power source to the heating element, for a predetermined interval, upon detection of an accelerated state of the vehicle. The heating element and control system thereof improves acceleration performance of the vehicle, even when using an electric seat heating element, by temporarily interrupting electric power flow to the seat heating element during acceleration.

An internal combustion engine in which fuel injection valves are arranged on the upstream side and on the downstream side of the throttle valve respectively, in which process values such as the engine speed and the vehicle speed cause fuel injection to be accurately restricted at predetermined upper limit values. A total injection quantity determination unit determines total quantity Qtotal of fuel to be injected from the upstream side and downstream side fuel injection valves. An injection rate determination unit determines an injection rate Rupper of the upstream injection valve. An injection quantity restriction unit restricts fuel injection of each of the fuel injection valves when process values such as the vehicle speed and the engine speed reach or approach the predetermined upper limit value. The injection quantity determination unit determines the injection quantity Qupper of the upstream injection valve and the injection quantity Qlower of the downstream injection valve.

Fuel injection system and fuel injecting method for internal combustion engine

A totally closed value of the throttle valve of an engine having a fast idle function will be rendered capable of being correctly detected. The opening indicated value IACV to be supplied to the motor during a fast idle operation is a value obtained by adding the water temperature correction value and the atmospheric pressure correction value to the totally closed reference value. A value obtained by subtracting the water temperature correction value and the atmospheric pressure correction value from the actual opening to be detected by the throttle sensor is set to the totally closed value. When the value obtained by subtracting the water temperature correction value and the atmospheric pressure correction value from the actual opening goes out of the dead zone, the totally closed value is replaced with the value obtained by subtracting both correction values from the actual opening.
