It is an object to provide a trimmer that can trim a fore-edge portion of a bound material except a cover and that can be excellent in productivity and cost. A cover has flap portions adjacent to the fore-edge portion of the bound material, a trimmer includes: a trim cutter that trims the bound material; a blade receiving portion that receives an edge of the trim cutter; a base portion and a pressure portion that nip and position the bound material; and a pair of guide portions arranged for movement in a direction close to or away from the bound material, wherein the guide portions are inserted between the book block and the cover so as to peel the cover together with the flap portions up when the fore-edge portion of the bound material is trimmed by the trim cutter.

Trimmer

A trimmer comprises a trim knife for trimming the bound material, a blade receiving portionfor receiving a blade edge of the trim knife, and an adjustment mechanismconfigured to adjust a position of the blade receiving portionin such a manner that each of one sideand other sideof the blade receiving portionmoves by not only a same amount but also a different amount and in directions toward and away from the blade edge of the trim knife. Each of positions of the one sideand the other sideof the blade receiving portioncan be adjusted.

A first press unitpresses each of a plurality of signatures S along a fold f, the signatures being supplied one at a time with the fold facing forward. The unit is arranged a signature conveyance unitthat conveys each signature received from the first press unit while controlling the attitude to make the fold orthogonal to the conveyance direction. The unit is arranged a gluing unitthat applies glue to both lateral edges of a top surface of each signature received from the signature conveyance unit. The unit is arranged an accumulation unitthat sequentially stacks the signatures received from the gluing unit on one another while jogging the stacked signatures to form a book block B. The unit is arranged a second press unitthat discharges the book block received from the accumulation unit after pressing the same along the folds.
