A display device equipped with a touch panel includes a touch panel unit, a touch panel control unit, a pen incline information acquiring unit, a coordinate correction unit, and a display panel unit. The touch panel control unit detects a touch upon a touch panel surface, and acquires touch point coordinate information which is information for specifying a location which is touched on the touch panel surface. The pen incline information acquiring unit acquires pen or input member incline information, which is information relating to an angle which is formed by the touch pen and the touch panel surface when the touch pen and the touch panel face are in contact. The coordinate correction unit corrects, on the basis of the pen incline information, the touch point coordinate information when the line is drawn with the touch pen or input member upon the touch panel screen.

Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device that has a function of detecting the position where light emitted from an input pointerhas been inputted to an image display surfaceof an display panel and that switches the display direction (vertical direction) of a display image on the display panel on the basis of the radiation direction of the light emitted from the input pointer. Thus, a display device having a position detection function that enables the display direction of a display image to be switched using a simple structure can be provided.

An on-vehicle display control unit includes a CPU to which vehicle data of various kinds are inputted and a graphic LSI arranged to generate display data to be outputted to a display. The graphic LSI is arranged to generate predetermined display data from image data generated by a meter ECU. However, if there is a problem in a state of the meter ECU or an input status of 3D moving picture data, the graphic LSI receives a fail safe control from the CPU (), thereby to generate fail safe display data corresponding to the predetermined display data. A steerable vehicle information display system is provided, in which images remain undisturbed even if a momentary power interruption occurs. The steerable vehicle information display system comprises: a DPF controller (), which acquires status information (Dto D) from the ECUs of each section of a motor vehicle with a predetermined periodicity; a rendering controller (), which generates component images representative of the status of each section of the motor vehicle based on the status information (Dto D) and generates a composite image of a motor vehicle dashboard by compositing the generated component images; and a nonvolatile memory (), which stores the status information (Dto D) or intermediate information generated from the status information, with the information being at least the latest information. If any of the status information (Dto D) is not acquired, the rendering controller () generates the informational image using information read from the nonvolatile memory () and displays it on the liquid crystal display device ().

A socket for an integrated circuit which is used for attaching the integrated circuit to a socket mounted on a primary wiring board with an intermediate wiring board interposed therebetween, an adapter for an integrated circuit utilizing the integrated circuit socket, and an integrated circuit assembly utilizing the integrated circuit adapter. The integrated circuit socket includes: a housing to be directly fitted with the integrated circuit; a long insertion pin which is to be inserted through the intermediate wiring board and to be fitted in the socket of the primary wiring board; a short insertion pin which is to be inserted through the intermediate wiring board but not to reach the socket of the primary wiring board; and a surface-mount pin which is to be connected to a surface of the intermediate wiring board opposed to the housing; the long insertion pin, the short insertion pin and the surface-mount pin being implanted in the housing.

In a semantic feature dictionary, names of semantic features and character strings in a first language having the semantic features are stored in a mutually associated manner. In a bilingual database, information on various conversational sentence examples is stored. Information on each conversational sentence example includes a conversational sentence example in the first language, a translation in a second language of the conversational sentence example, and a string of semantic features contained in the conversational sentence example. An analyzer extracts semantic feature names from an input sentence, free entered through an input unit, by using the semantic feature dictionary. A semantic searcher selects from the bilingual database a conversational sentence example having the largest number of semantic feature names coincident with the extracted semantic feature names. A display unit displays the selected conversational sentence example along with its translation.
