To provide a sound signal generation device capable of artificially generating an engine sound signal indicating a realistic engine sound linked to running of an electric vehicle even when, for example, an engine is not mounted at all. A virtual engine rotation speed generation unit that acquires accelerator opening data indicating an accelerator operation amount in the electric vehicle and running speed data indicating a vehicle running speed of the electric vehicle, calculates a virtual running speed of a virtual engine vehicle, modifies the virtual running speed on the basis of the running speed data, and calculates an engine rotation speed of a virtual engine on the basis of the modified virtual running speed, and an artificial engine sound generation unit that generates a sound signal for outputting an artificial engine sound corresponding to a running state of the electric vehicle on the basis of the accelerator operation amount.

The present invention provides a sound pressure signal output apparatus capable of synthesizing and outputting a sound pressure signal that simulates the sound of a real engine with reduced processing load in real time while flexibly adapting to specification changes. The sound pressure signal output apparatus comprises: an interface that acquires single sound data corresponding to the sound generated by one cylinder of a vehicle-mounted internal combustion engine during one combustion cycle in the cylinder, acquires order sound data corresponding to order sound for a frequency corresponding to the engine rotation speed, and acquires random sound data generated corresponding to at least either the material or the shape of the structure that makes up an engine; and a synthesis unit that synthesizes and outputs the sound pressure signal of an engine sound using the single sound data and the like acquired.

A running-linked sound producing device produces a running-linked sound according to a running state of a vehicle. The running-linked sound producing device includes a vehicle speed estimation unit to estimate a vehicle speed of the vehicle, an accelerator command value estimation unit to estimate an accelerator command value based on a vehicle speed estimated by the vehicle speed estimation unit, and a running-linked sound generation unit that generates a running-linked sound, wherein the running-linked sound generation unit generates a running-linked sound based on a vehicle speed estimated by the vehicle speed estimation unit and an accelerator command value estimated by the accelerator command value estimation unit.

Running-linked sound producing device

A running-linked sound generation unit includes an order sound data generation unit, a random sound data generation unit, and a synthesis unit. The order sound data generation unit generates order sound data by changing the tone of basic order sound data according to a motor rotation speed of a vehicle. The random sound data generation unit generates random sound data by changing the volume of basic random sound data according to a motor rotation speed and an accelerator command value of a vehicle, without changing the tone of the basic random sound data. The synthesis unit generates synthetic sound data by combining synthesized order sound data and random sound data.

An engine sound synthesizer includes an engine sound storing section, and a synthetic engine sound data generating section which generates synthetic engine sound data on the basis of engine sound data stored in the engine sound storing section. The engine sound storing section stores therein plural groups of plural entities of engine sound data recorded in different driving states, the plural groups of plural engine sound data entities being stored therein in correspondence with predetermined plural driving state ranges. The synthetic engine sound data generating section generates the synthetic engine sound data by selectively reading out of the engine sound storing section plural engine sound data entities in a group corresponding to one of the driving state ranges specified by externally input driving state specification information and selectively combining the read engine sound data entities. A sound synthesizer for a vehicle includes a driving operation detector that detects an operation amount of a driving operation input device by a driver. A speed calculator calculates a revolution speed of a drive unit based on the detected operation amount. A sound controller outputs a sound control signal based on an input of the operation amount and based on the revolution speed. A memory stores drive sound data in advance. A synthesized sound output generator reads out drive sound data from the memory and outputs a voltage signal corresponding to a sound pressure signal. The sound controller outputs sound control signals so that the drive sound data within a range of the operational state corresponding to the inputted operation amount and the revolution speed is repetitively played.

Vehicle sound synthesizer

Operational states of one or more operators employed in a vehicle are detected to generate operational information corresponding to the detected operational states. Also, one or more traveling states of the vehicle are detected to generate traveling information corresponding to the detected traveling states. There is provided a table storing correspondency between various operational and traveling information and various sound control information, and sound control information corresponding to generated operational or traveling information is obtained with reference to the table. Sound signal is generated on the basis of the obtained sound control information to auditorily inform a user of the vehicle of the operational or traveling state of the vehicle. Contents of the table may be changed as desired by the user. There may be provided a plurality of tables so that the user can select any one of the tables.

A sound synthesizer for a vehicle includes a driving operation detector that detects an operation amount of a driving operation input device by a driver. A speed calculator calculates a revolution speed of a drive unit based on the detected operation amount. A sound controller outputs a sound control signal based on an input of the operation amount and based on the revolution speed. A memory stores drive sound data in advance. A synthesized sound output generator reads out drive sound data from the memory and outputs a voltage signal corresponding to a sound pressure signal. The memory divides the operational state of the drive unit into plural stages by using the operation amount and the revolution speed as parameters. The memory stores each driving sound which is recorded in the middle of each operational period as digital data of the driving sound at a wavelength of a sound pressure waveform which is substantially the same as a cyclic sound interval of the drive unit. The sound controller is arranged to output sound control signals so that the drive sound data within a range of the operational state corresponding to the inputted operation amount and revolution speed is repetitively played. Preferably, multiple sound synthesizers are interconnected to a server so that sound data can be downloaded to the sound synthesizers from the server.

An accumulator type of fuel injection nozzle that permits greater control of the desired fuel discharge rate by achieving a triangular form of discharge with lesser amount of fuel being discharged during initial opening of the injection nozzle. This is achieved by selecting the preload of a spring that urges the injection valve to its closed position in accordance with formula set forth herein. The load and speed of the engine is controlled by varying the duty cycle of the injection nozzle and the pressure of the fuel supply to it.
