In a method of manufacturing an inkjet head, a silicon dioxide (SiO) layer is produced on the surface of first silicon member formed from single-crystal silicon. Next, a glass layer formed of borosilicate glass or the like is sputtered onto the surface of the silicon dioxide (SiO) layer. A silicon oxide (SiO, x&#x3c;2) layer is then formed on the surface of a second silicon member. The first and second silicon members and are bonded together by applying heat at about 450&#xb0; C. with heaters, as a DC voltage is applied across electrode terminals. As a result, a silicon dioxide (SiO) layer is formed at the interface of the glass layer and silicon oxide (SiO, x&#x3c;2) layer, anodically bonding the two layers.

An ink jet head includes: a chamber plate having a plurality of pressuring chambers formed therein for storing an ink; a vibrating plate bonded to the chamber plate; a housing having an ink flow path through which an ink is supplied into the pressuring chambers; an orifice through which an ink is ejected from the pressuring chambers; and a longitudinal vibration mode piezoelectric element for generating pressure under which an ink droplet is ejected through the orifice. A thickness of the vibration plate is from 5 &#x3bc;m to 10 &#x3bc;m.

An ink jet head includes: a pressure chamber that stores an ink and has an orifice; a filter plate including a through hole portion and a filter portion, the through hold portion disposed separately from the filter portion with a certain gap; a supply unit that supplies the ink through the filter portion to the pressure chamber; and a jetting unit that jets ink droplets through the orifice from the pressure chamber. The filter portion is formed to have a first aperture ratio. At least one through hole is formed on the through hole potion so that the filter portion has a second aperture ratio. The first aperture ratio is smaller than the second aperture ratio.

Ink jet head and ink jet recording apparatus

A piezoelectric element is attached to a diaphragm via a relay member. A length of the relay member is shorter than the length of the piezoelectric element and longer than an active section in the piezoelectric element with respect to a direction orthogonal to a direction in which a plurality of nozzles are aligned. Also, a surface of the relay member that attached to the diaphragm has a width that is shorter than the piezoelectric element with respect to the direction in which the nozzles are aligned.

A chamber support plate of an inkjet head is formed as a member different from a housing. The chamber support plate is formed with a plurality of grooves at high density by a dicing saw or the like. Piezoelectric elements are inserted into the grooves and adhered to a chamber plate. The plurality of grooves define comb teeth portions, which support the chamber plate at positions between adjacent piezoelectric elements.

Housing used in inkjet head

An inkjet printing system includes an array of transducers to eject ink, the array including the transducers divided into interspersed sets. A controller controls a firing sequence of the array of transducers. One set of transducers is fired, and after a delay, another set of transducers is fired and then, after further delays, each set is fired in turn. The delays are selected based on known response characteristics of the array of transducers to minimize the average crosstalk for all of the sets.

Short delay phased firing to reduce crosstalk in an inkjet printing device

An appropriate pulse width of a driving pulse for driving a piezoelectric element of ink jet head is determined by using the head difference. That is, the pulse width with which the least change in the ink speed occurs can be used as the pulse width of the driving signal for the piezoelectric actuator. As a result, a reliable ink jet printer head capable of stably ejecting ink droplets over a long period of time and having excellent frequency characteristics can be provided.

Drive method for ink jet head

A print head for ink jet printer having a reduced length in a main scanning direction and an elongated length in an auxiliary scanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction. A plurality of linear print head modules are arrayed in the auxiliary scanning direction, and each linear print head module extends in a slanting direction with respect to the main scanning direction by a predetermined angle. Further, each linear print head module has a width in a direction perpendicular to its extending direction. The slanting angle and the width determine scanning pitch extending in the auxiliary scanning direction and can reduces the length of the print head in the main scanning direction.

Print head having array of printing elements for printer

In an ink jet recording head, the thin-film thermal resistor is covered by an electrically-insulating oxidation film. An inorganic insulation layer is formed over a part of the thin-film thermal resistor and the thin-film conductor. An organic insulation layer is formed over at least a part of the inorganic insulation layer that covers the connecting edge of the connection portion between the thin-film thermal resistor and the thin-film conductor.

Ink jet recording head

In an ink ejection type recording device in which expansion of bubble ejects an ink droplet from a nozzle toward a recording medium, a heater formed in an ink channel is applied with a pulse of voltage by a driver circuit. The pulse of voltage is determined so that the surface of the heater in direct contact with the water-based ink is rapidly heated to a temperature causing to invoke caviar-wise nucleation of the ink that is in direct contact with the surface of the heater. Expanding bubbles resulting from the caviar-wise nucleation ejects an ink droplet from the nozzle, wherein the heater is heated at a heating speed in a range from 1.times.10.sup.8 .degree. C./sec to 5.times.10.sup.8 .degree.C./sec, and the surface of the heater is heated up from a room temperature to a temperature substantially equal to 320 C within a period of time ranging from 0.6 to 3 .mu.sec. By heating the heater under these conditions, the ink in contact with the heater starts boiling with a high boiling pressure, the generated bubble has a large volume, and thus the bubble can generate pressure sufficiently large to eject the ink droplet.

Ink jet print head and a method of driving ink therefrom

An ink jet printing device including an ink channel wall defining an ink chamber; a nozzle portion formed with a nozzle connecting the ink chamber with atmosphere; and a thermal heater formed to the ink channel wall adjacent to the nozzle portion, the thermal heater including a Ta--Si--O ternary alloy thin film resistor having a composition of 64% .ltoreq.Ta.ltoreq.85%, 5%.ltoreq.Si.ltoreq.26%, and 6%.ltoreq.O.ltoreq.15% and a nickel film conductor.

Ink jet printing device

In an ink jet printer, a belt-type preheating unit 2 pressingly heats a recording sheet 6 while transporting the recording sheet in a transport direction B on a belt. A suction transport device 3 is positioned downstream of the belt-type preheating unit 2 in the transport direction B. The suction transport means transports, on its transport belt, the recording sheet 6 heated by the belt-type preheating unit 2 in the transport direction B while fixing the recording sheet onto the transport belt by a vacuum suction. An ink jet print head, positioned confronting the suction transport device 3, records images by ejecting water-based ink onto the recording sheet which is being transported by the suction transport device.
