An image stabilizing optical device including an optical system having a first lens located on an object side and a second lens located on an imaging lens side. The first lens and the second lens are opposed to each other with a small space defined therebetween. Opposed surfaces of the first lens and the second lens have the same curvature. The image stabilizing optical device further includes a rotating mechanism located on the same center of curvature of the first and second lenses, for moving the second lens independently in two perpendicular axial directions in a plane perpendicular to an optical axis of the optical system; and a shake detecting mechanism for detecting shakes in the two perpendicular axial directions. The optical system is located in front of an imaging lens of an imaging device in proximity to the imaging lens. The rotating mechanism is driven according to a result of detection from the shake detecting mechanism to control an optical path of light incident on the optical system. Accordingly, image shake due to shaky hand movements in the imaging device can be effectively performed.

Image stabilizing optical device

A doublet lens which, on being inserted between the light rays, can perform deviation correction in an afocal state without its focal length being changed. The doublet lens is arranged so that, if the radius of curvature of the concave surface of a plano-concave lens 10X is r1, the refractive index of the plano-concave lens 10X is n1, the magnitude of a gap between the plano-concave lens and the plano-convex lens is .DELTA., the refractive index of the gap is n2, the radius of curvature of the convex surface of a plano-convex lens 10Y is r2 and the refractive index of the plano-convex lens 10Y is n3, the following relation: ##EQU1## is met. The angle between opposite planar surfaces is changed by rotating the plano-convex mirror, for example, of the doublet lens about its center of curvature as the center of rotation.

An automatic focusing system includes a photo-sensitive element for receiving light passing a main lens system of a camera. The photo-sensitive element produces a distance indicative signal based on the received light. The main lens system is driven to a position to focus upon an object on the basis of the distance indicative signal from the photo-sensitive element. The system is also provided with an auxiliary light generating element for emitting an auxiliary light to the object. The auxiliary light generating element is activated while distance measurement is performed for focusing operation in order to enable the automatic focusing system to perform a distance measurement and focus upon the object even in dark environmental conditions or upon dark objects. The auxiliary light generating element may be selected to emit an infrared light beam or a far infrared light beam.

Automatic focusing system for use in camera

A negative to positive image converting apparatus comprising a video camera mounted detachably on one end of a base member, a housing mounted onto and substantially at right angles to the other end of base member, the housing comprising a lamp housing and a mirror housing, a color filter means disposed between the lamp housing and the mirror housing, projecting guide pins for guiding a film holder over an aperture in the mirror housing. In use light is projected through a negative in the film holder and via a mirror in the mirror housing to the video camera. The video camera has a negative to positive inversion switch so that a positive output video signal can be obtained.
