A label printer comprises a supporting frame having a pair of side plates facing each other. A print head and a platen roller are arranged between the side plates. Above the print head is arranged a ribbon supply device for running a transfer ribbon between the print head and the platen roller. The ribbon supply device includes a ribbon unit supported on a supporting mechanism, and a ribbon drive section attached to the side plate so as to drive the ribbon unit. The supporting mechanism includes a fixed arm fixed to the side plate, and a slider mounted on the fixed arm. The slider supports the ribbon unit thereon and is slidable between a first position where the ribbon unit engages the ribbon drive section and a second position where the ribbon unit is situated outside the supporting frame.

Transfer printer

A printer includes a print head and a platen roller facing the head. The platen roller is supported by supporting frames. The frames are rotatably supported by a stationary shaft. A second set lever is mounted on the supporting frame to be movable integrally with the frames, and includes a pressing portion facing a paper guide. The paper guide is pressed against a feed roller for feeding a paper sheet passing between the head and the platen roller. When the supporting frames are rotated in a direction to leave the platen roller from the head by a first set lever, the pressing portion pushes the paper guide so as to leave it from the feed roller.

A label printer comprises a supporting frame having a pair of side plates facing each other. A platen roller and a head unit having a print head are arranged between the side plates. A supporting shaft extends parallel to the platen roller and has one end fixed to one of the side plates and a free end adjacent to the other side plate. The head unit is supported on the supporting shaft and located in an operative position wherein the print head is opposite to the platen roller. The head unit is slidable from the operative position to the outside of the supporting frame along the supporting shaft. The free end of the shaft and the head unit in the operative position is fixed by a fixing member mounted on the other side plate.

A slip storing apparatus for storing slips successively issued by a slip issuing machine. The slip storing apparatus comprises: a conveying mechanism for conveying slips issued by the slip issuing machine in one direction, and a slip storing unit having a slip support surface for supporting slips at their lower edges, declined to the rear at an angle to a horizontal plane, and a movable slip holding member having a slip holding surface substantially perpendicular to the slip support surface and supported for movement along a plane including the slip support surface.

A thermal printer comprises a pair of fixed frames for rotatably supporting a platen which is rotated by a motor and a head unit rotatably supported by the fixed frames through a pair of movable frames and for supporting a thermal head. A pair of pinch rollers are rotatably mounted on the fixed frames, which are selectively brought to a first operating state to feed a paper sheet to the region between the platen and the thermal head, and a second operating state to feed no paper sheet. The thermal head is selectively moved between a first position, in which it is pressed against the platen, and a second position in which it is disengaged from the platen. The thermal head is moved to the first position, at the same time the pinch rollers and moved to the second operating state, while the thermal head is moved to the second position, at the same time the pinch rollers are moved to the first operating state.

Thermal printer with reciprocal paper feed control

A printing apparatus comprises a printer body having an opening on the top side thereof, and a platen for feeding a paper sheet supported by a paper holder disposed in the printer body. The platen is provided in the body to face the opening. A head unit includes a housing having an opening on the bottom side thereof and a print head disposed in the housing to face the opening thereof. The head unit is moveable between an operative position, in which the head unit is located on the printer body so that the opening of the housing and the print head face the opening of the printer body and the platen, respectively, whereby the paper sheet between the platen and the print head is allowed to be ready for printing, and an open position in which the head unit is off the printer body so that the whole opening of the printer body is exposed.

According to the present invention, a shaft cover is attached to the front end portion of a ribbon guide shaft projecting in a cantilevered state from a side face of a printer body; cores of an ink ribbon are fitted respectively on a ribbon feed shaft and a ribbon take-up shaft both projecting in a cantilevered state from the said side face of the printer body; the ink ribbon is passed round the outer periphery of the shaft cover; then the cores and the shaft cover are pushed in simultaneously to set the ink ribbon in a predetermined certain position.

An apparatus for transporting paper comprising a paper transport path made up of a reference surface with which one edge portion of paper is brought into abutment and a paper guide on which the surface of the paper is supported, a skew roller supported on a roller shaft, which is arranged at an angle with the transport direction of the paper, and resilently urged toward the paper guide, a skew roller portions control having an abutment surface with which one end portion of the roller shaft is brought into abutment when the skew roller takes a position to be in contact with the paper and a stopper edge with which the periphery of the roller shaft is brought into abutment when the skew roller takes an open position to be away from the paper and being urged toward the skew roller, and a release to move the skew roller position control away from the skew roller, whereby it is made possible to simply bring about a state of the skew roller separated from the paper guide and a state of them held in contact.

An electronic printing apparatus comprises a printer body having a front surface with a window, a sheet feeding mechanism provided in the printer body, which may be accessed for maintenance work through the window, a main front cover for opening and closing the window in the front surface of the printer body, a sub-front cover movably provided on the printer body so as to be downwardly pivotable about the bottom of the printer body in a perpendicular direction, and having an operation surface which covers the main front cover so that it faces thereto, and a keyboard and a display provided on the operation surface of the sub-front cover.

A thermal printer comprises a pair of fixed frames for rotatably supporting a platen, a head unit movable relatively to the fixed frames and swingably supporting an elongated thermal head around its intermediate portion, a pair of leaf springs, one end of which resiliently urges the head unit toward the fixed frames so that the thermal head is pressed resiliently against the platen across a paper sheet, and a cam member having cam faces which are selectively engaged with the other end of the leaf spring for changing the urging force of the leaf spring by stages in accordance with the quality of the paper sheet.

Thermal printer

A thermal transfer printer comprises a pair of fixed frames for rotatably supporting a platen, a pair of movable frames supporting a thermal head, the movable frames being connected to the fixed frames so as to be rockable around a shaft, between a position where the thermal head is pressed against the platen and a position where the thermal head is moved away from the platen. The ink ribbon is supported by a supply roll and a take-up roll and may be alternately transported in one direction such that the ink ribbon is directed toward the region between the thermal head and the platen or in the direction opposite thereto. The movable frame is provided with operating member adapted to drive the supply roll to move the ink ribbon in the opposite direction, thereby applying a tension of the opposite direction to the ink ribbon, when the movable frame is rocked so that the thermal head is pressed against the platen.
