An auto document feeding device includes: a carrying member configured to carry an original from an original setting unit to an image scanning unit; a fixed guide unit configured to change a carrying direction of the original, at between the carrying member and the image scanning unit; a movable guide unit which is movable between the fixed guide unit and the carrying member; and a paper discharge unit configured to discharge the original which passed through the image scanning unit.

Auto document feeding device

An auto document feeding device causes an original document passing through an OUT path and an original document passing through an IN path to flow together with overlap a trailing edge of a preceding original document and a leading edge of a following original document. Before the original documents reach to a READ document glass, the auto document feeding device comprises a separating unit configured to separate an overlapping portion of the original documents. The auto document feeding device reduces a distance between the preceding original document and the following original document passing on the READ document glass to nearly 0 mm.

The lengths of an OUT path and an IN path are made longer than the length of a document of a main size in a traveling direction. The document of the main size stands by for conveyance in a direction of a READ document glass in a state where the entire document is contained in the OUT path or the IN path. The entrance speed of the document into the OUT path or the IN path is equal to the read speed of a scanner. The leading edge of a subsequent document is overlapped on the trailing edge of a preceding document, and the document is conveyed to the READ document glass.

Auto document feeding device and image scanning device

A spring is bridged between a pair of press levers, and a pair of driven rollers is pressurized uniformly, so that clamping and conveying force of the sheet of paper P on the front side and rear side by conveying rollers and the driven rollers is made equal such as Pf=Pr, the sheet of paper P are prevented from being skewed, while the sheet of paper P are clamped and conveyed by a conveying device, and the good conveying of the sheet of paper P is improved, thus the image quality is improved.

Sheet conveying device and image forming apparatus

The ability of manual paper feeders to cope with increasing types of paper sheets (particularly basis weights) is approaching its limit. In this invention, when an operator performs a simple operation of, e.g., selecting the type of paper sheet on an operation panel, paper feed mechanism conditions at a manual paper feed port are optimized. That is, a manual paper feed tray desirably capable of being accommodated in a main body automatically changes its position and angle with respect to the main body in accordance with external inputs from an operator, thereby changing the paper feed mechanism conditions. This allows stable paper feed/conveyance of a variety of types of paper sheets and realizes space saving and low cost.

Image forming apparatus

A copying machine includes an image-forming device and a cassette feeder accompanying a plurality of cassettes. The cassette comprises a body without a base and a base plate located at a base portion. When the cassette is inserted into the cassette feeder, a push-up member provided in the cassette feeder pushes up one end of the base plate of the cassette such that the top sheet of paper sheets stored in the cassette is brought into contact with a pick-up roller provided in the cassette feeder.
