Disclosed are injection-moldable fluororesin compositions of melt flowable fluororesin and mesoporous silica. The fluororesin compositions are melt flowable and have a melt flow rate of from 2 to 60 g/10 min. The mesoporous silica has an average pore diameter of from 2 to 50 nm, and the pores of the mesoporous silica are filled with the melt flowable fluororesin. The fluororesin compositions have excellent melt moldability for manufacturing molded products from the fluororesin composition that demonstrate high hardness.

Fluororesin composition and its molded product

Described herein are fluororesin compositions of melt processible fluororesin and wholly aromatic polyamide fibers. The wholly aromatic polyamide fibers have an average fiber diameter of 10-20 &#x3bc;m and an average fiber length of 100-1,000 &#x3bc;m. The compositions are melt processible and can be melt molded into sliding members having low wear when used with sliding counterparts made of metals such as aluminum, copper, zinc or nickel.

A non-stick coating composition comprising diamond particles of relatively large size, i.e., greater than 1 micrometer, preferably greater than 10 micrometers, and a fluoropolymer, can be applied to a substrate. In addition, a structure comprising a substrate and an undercoat is applied to the substrate, where the undercoat comprises a primer layer comprising a heat resistant non-fluoropolymer polymer binder and diamond particles, and optionally a midcoat also comprising diamond particles.

A composition is provided that is applicable for providing a non-stick abrasion-resistant coating on a surface, but not as a primer layer, said composition comprising fluoropolymer and an effective amount of ceramic particles having an average size of at least about 10 micrometers to improve the abrasion resistance of said coating on said surface by at least 10% as determined by the dry SBAR method, said composition optionally containing adhesion promoter in an amount up to about 10 wt % of the wt. of said fluoropolymer.

Non-stick finish composition

A non-stick coating on a substrate is provided wherein the coating comprises an overcoat and a primer adhering the overcoat to the substrate, the overcoat comprising fluoropolymer and an effective amount of ceramic particles, preferably at least 3 wt % based on the combined weight of the fluoropolymer and the ceramic particles in the overcoat, said ceramic particles having an average particle size of at least about 10 micrometers to increase the abrasion resistance of said coating as determined by the dry SBAR method.

Non-stick finish

A functionalized fluoropolymer, preferably with phosphate functionality, can be coated on a metal oxide containing rubber substrate, which coating, after heating, results in a fluoropolymer-rubber substrate laminate without degradation of the rubber, and with good adhesion between the fluoropolymer and the rubber.

The present invention provides an abrasion resistant composition comprising fluoropolymer and an effective amount of micropulp to increase the abrasion resistance of an article such as a film formed from the composition by at least 25% as compared to film formed from the fluoropolymer by itself. In an especially preferred embodiment, the composition also contains an effective amount of pigment to further increase the abrasion resistance of film formed from the composition as compared to film formed from the fluoropolymer by itself. The invention is especially useful for films formed on a fuser roll.
