A reserve tank includes a gas-liquid separator, a flow inlet portion, a flow outlet portion, and a projection shaped in a tubular form. The gas-liquid separator is shaped in a bottomed tubular form and is centered on a predetermined axis. The flow inlet portion is configured to conduct coolant into an inside of the gas-liquid separator. The flow outlet portion is configured to discharge the coolant from the inside of the gas-liquid separator. The projection extends along the predetermined axis from a bottom wall at the inside of the gas-liquid separator. An inner space of the projection opens to an inner space of the gas-liquid separator at a distal end portion of the projection.

Reserve tank

A reserve tank includes a vapor-liquid separator, an inlet portion, an outlet portion, and a protrusion. The vapor-liquid separator defines an inner space for separating a vapor phase and a liquid phase of a cooling water. The inlet portion defines a first opening through which the cooling water is supplied into the inner space and the outlet portion defines a second opening through which the cooling water is discharged from the inner space. The protrusion protrudes upward from a bottom surface of the vapor-liquid separator. An inner circumferential surface of the vapor-liquid separator and an outer circumferential surface of the protrusion are coaxially provided to define an annular passage in the inner space. The cooling water introduced from the first opening flows spirally in the annular passage.

The heat exchanger has tubes and a header tank that is located at an end of the tubes in a longitudinal direction and communicates with the tubes. The header tank has a core plate that connects to the tubes and a tank body that is fixed to the core plate. The core plate has a tube connection surface, a sealing surface, and an inclined surface that connects the tube connection surface and the sealing surface with each other. A distance between the tube connection surface and an end surface of the tubes in the longitudinal direction is different from a distance between the sealing surface and the end surface in the longitudinal direction by disposing the inclined surface to incline with respect to the longitudinal direction. The tubes connect to the tube connection surface and the inclined surface in a condition of being inserted to the tube connection surface and the inclined surface.

Heat exchanger tank

A stiffener for a heat exchanger includes a top plate and at least two legs extending from opposing sides of the top plate. Each of the at least two legs includes a bent portion, an angled portion, and a straight portion. The bent portion attaches the leg to the top plate. The angled portion increases a width of the stiffener from a width of the top plate. The straight portion extends perpendicular to a plane of the top plate.

Thermal stress relief stiffener

A side slit of a core plate of a heat exchanger reaches a sealing surface. The core plate has a rib which is formed on a bottom plate across a protruding portion. The rib communicates to a cavity above the sealing surface. An end slit formed on an end wall of the core plate reaches the sealing surface. A first joining tab is formed between two end slits. The first joining tab is joined to a second joining tab on a reinforce plate. The side slit and the rib enable deformation of the core plate. The end slit enables deformation of the first joining tab in a tilting manner.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger has a core plate connected to a tank member by clamping claws. The tank member has a waved outer surface including outer ridge portions and outer valley portions which are disposed alternately. The tank member also has a waved inner surface including inner ridge portions and inner valley portions which are disposed alternately. The outer valley portions are capable of receiving the claws. The inner ridge portion is positioned inside the outer valley portion in a width direction. The inner ridge portion is positioned between the adjacent tubes and/or between extensions of the tubes in a height direction. An inner width of the tank member regulated by the inner ridge portions is narrower than a width of the tube.

This brazed structure includes a brazing sheet that has been brazed and that comprises: a core material comprising an aluminum alloy which contains 0.3-1.0 mass %, excluding 0.3 mass %, Si, 0.6-2.0 mass %, excluding 0.6 mass %, Mn, 0.3-1.0 mass %, excluding 0.3 mass %, Cu, and 0.15-0.5 mass %, excluding 0.15 mass %, Mg, with the remainder comprising Al and unavoidable impurities, and has an average crystal grain diameter of 50 &#x3bc;m or larger and in which an Mg&#x2014;Si intermetallic compound and an Al&#x2014;Mg&#x2014;Si&#x2014;Cu intermetallic compound account for 40% or less of the grain boundaries; and, clad to the core material, a brazing material comprising an Al&#x2014;Si alloy.

Brazed structure

An aluminum alloy brazing sheet for heat exchangers has a core, a sacrificial material formed on one side of the core, and a brazing filler metal formed on the other side of the core. The core is made of an aluminum alloy containing Si, Cu, Mn, and Al. The sacrificial material is made of an aluminum alloy containing Si, Zn, Mg, and Al. The brazing filler metal is made of an aluminum alloy. The aluminum alloy brazing sheet for heat exchangers has a work hardening exponent n of not less than 0.05. The core has an average crystal grain size of not more than 10 &#x3bc;m in a cross-section. The aluminum alloy brazing sheet for heat exchangers has excellent strength and corrosion resistance even when it is formed into a thin material and also has excellent high frequency weldability and weld cracking resistance during electric resistance welding.

Aluminum alloy brazing sheet for heat exchanger

A heat exchanger includes a core portion, a pair of header tanks, and an elastically-deformable sealing member. The header tanks are arranged on both end sides of the core portion. The header tank includes a core plate and a resin tank body, which define a tank space. The sealing member is disposed at an end part of the tank body located adjacent to the core plate. The sealing member has a loop shape to enclose the tank space when viewed from the core portion and is formed integrally with the end part of the tank body. The end part of the tank body includes a protrusion portion at least one of inward and outward of the sealing member. The protrusion portion encloses the tank space when viewed from the core portion and projects from the end part of the tank body toward the core plate.
