In a hydraulic tensioner device in which a high hydraulic pressure chamber is configured between a plunger accommodation hole of a tensioner body accommodating a plunger and the plunger to attenuate reactive force acting on the plunger, the tensioner body includes, in a discharge oil passage for discharging oil leaked from the high hydraulic pressure chamber, a pressure maintenance valve for opening and closing the discharge oil passage, air release passages are formed inside the pressure maintenance valve, and an air release valve for releasing air and preventing air from back flowing is provided in the air release passages.

Hydraulic tensioner device

An air bleeding valve includes an annular valve element for removing air from oil contained in a hydraulic circuit of a hydraulic tensioner and for suppressing the removal of the oil. An air bleeding valve body is fitted in an air bleeding valve accommodating hole formed in the hydraulic tensioner. A circumferential groove having a rectangular cross section is formed on an outer circumferential surface of the air bleeding valve body. The annular valve element having a rectangular cross section is fitted in the circumferential groove so as to be movable in an axial direction parallel to the axis of the annular valve element, and displaceable in a radial direction toward and away from the axis of the annular valve element. Such air bleeding valve removes air in a hydraulic circuit while suppressing the removal of oil in the hydraulic circuit during starting operation of an engine.

A hydraulic tensioner applies appropriate tension to an endless power transmitting belt. The hydraulic tensioner includes a plunger body, an oil supply path, a check valve, a relief valve, a pressure maintaining valve interposed in a relief path and a pressure accommodating hole. The hydraulic tensioner is configured such that a path that is branched from the oil supply path for operating the pressure maintaining valve is formed independently of a supply path to the check valve.

Hydraulic tensioner

A shift control device in a saddle-ride-type vehicle includes a lost motion mechanism and a locking mechanism. The lost motion mechanism is disposed between a shift spindle and a shift drum and engages a shifter-side rotary member on a shift spindle side and a drum-side rotary member on a shift drum side, in a relatively rotatable manner while accumulating a force. The locking mechanism is engaged with the shifter-side rotary member and the drum-side rotary member, respectively, so as to restrict the rotation of the shifter-side rotary member and the rotation of the drum-side rotary member, individually.

Shift control device of saddle-ride-type vehicle

A gear shift device is provided which changes speed by transmitting rotation of a shift spindle by gear shift operation input to rotation of a shift drum through an intermittent feed mechanism and a lost motion mechanism. An upstream rotation holding mechanism is provided to hold in a required rotational position an upstream rotating member of the lost motion mechanism which is rotated by gear shift operation input through the intermittent feed mechanism. When a required level of gear shift operation is done, the gear shift device changes speed adequately, without continuing gear shift operation, and thus improves operability.

Gear shift device

A tensioner for an endless transmission belt includes a plunger body. A plunger is movably provided in a hole of the plunger body to press the belt. A chamber is provided between the plunger and the plunger body to store hydraulic oil. An oil supply passage is provided in the plunger body to supply the oil from an oil pump to the chamber. A check valve is provided between the chamber and the passage and configured to allow the oil to be supplied from the pump to the chamber while the check valve is configured to be closed when a pressure in the chamber is higher than a pressure of the oil supplied by the pump. A relief valve is provided between the chamber and the passage and configured to discharge the oil in the chamber to the passage when the pressure in the chamber exceeds a first predetermined value.

Tensioner for endless transmission belt and internal combustion engine having the tensioner

An internal combustion engine includes a continuously variable transmission chamber formed of a crank case and a cover member connected to the crank case to permit the use of oil different between the internal combustion engine and the continuously variable transmission. Thereafter, a sufficient amount of each oil is ensured to not reduce the lowest road clearance. A division wall divides an interior of an oil pan into an internal combustion engine side oil reservoir and a continuously variable transmission side oil reservoir that reserves oil for lubrication of a continuously variable transmission and for speed control thereof, and which is connected to a lower portion of a crank case. The continuously variable transmission side oil reservoir is formed in a width direction of the motorcycle wherein part of continuously variable transmission side oil reservoir expands more outwardly than a continuously variable transmission chamber.

Motorcycle power unit

A tensioner for an endless transmission belt includes a plunger body and a plunger. The plunger is movably provided in the plunger body to press the endless transmission belt. A pressure chamber provided between the plunger and the plunger body is configured to store hydraulic oil supplied from an oil pump. A check valve is provided in the plunger body, configured to be opened to supply the hydraulic oil to the pressure chamber when a pressure in the pressure chamber is lower than an oil pressure from the oil pump, and configured to be closed when the pressure is higher than the oil pressure. A relief valve is provided in the plunger body within a width of the plunger in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the plunger and configured to discharge the hydraulic oil in the pressure chamber when the pressure exceeds a predetermined value.

Tensioner for endless transmission belt

To provide an adequate biasing load to an endless transmission belt by biasing forces of a plurality of springs with different biasing forces and oil pressure biasing force to permit an easy adjustment. In a structure which includes an almost cylindrical plunger, a tensioner body into which the plunger is fitted, high pressure oil chambers are formed by the tensioner body and the plunger and supplied with oil pressure. Two tensioner springs, a rigid spring and a soft spring are supported by the tensioner body and are arranged in series for biasing the plunger. The plunger in its fully stretched state is supported by the serially arranged rigid and soft tensioner springs. In a condition when the plunger is pushed back from this fully stretched state by a prescribed amount or further, the plunger is supported by the rigid tensioner spring.

Hydraulic tensioner lifter

A V-type, multicylinder internal combustion engine with multiple isolated crank chambers formed by partitioning a space inside of a crankcase with multiple support walls for supporting a crankshaft, and multiple oil outlet holes, respectively communicating with the isolated crank chambers to separately discharge oil from the multiple isolated crank chambers, uses a single scavenging pump to discharge the oil from the isolated crank chambers rather than connecting multiple scavenging pumps, respectively, to the oil outlet holes. The engine includes an oil collecting pan mounted on a bottom wall of a crank chamber covering the multiple oil outlet holes respectively communicating with the multiple isolated crank chambers for collecting the oil passed through the oil outlet holes. The oil collecting pan has an oil reservoir with an oil outlet opening, and a single scavenging pump for drawing the oil stored in the oil collecting pan through the oil outlet opening.

Multicylinder internal combustion engine

To provide a hydraulic tensioner lifter which can reduce the filling time of oil pressure into an oil chamber which is in a state wherein air is present therein and can sufficiently exhibit a vibration-damping function. A hydraulic tensioner lifter for applying tension to an endless power transmission band of a power transmission mechanism includes a plunger fitted for sliding movement in an accommodation hole of a tensioner body B and cooperating with the tensioner body B to define an oil chamber therebetween. An air-bleeder mechanism is provided for exhausting air in the oil chamber to the outside of the oil chamber. The purge valve P has a check valve function of permitting the exhaustion of the air in the oil chamber to the outside of the oil chamber but blocking admission of air into the oil chamber from the outside of the oil chamber and blocking discharging of the oil pressure in the oil chamber to the outside of the oil chamber. In addition, the volume of oil in the oil chamber may be decreased by a spring guide portion which is accommodated in the inside of the tensioner spring for guiding the tensioner spring.
