The present invention provides a ball cock for a railway vehicle which comprises a main body possessing a primary-side opening and a secondary-side opening which face one another and an air exhaust aperture which is formed between these openings. Such ball cock further includes a ball-shaped valve body which is rotatably provided inside such main body and in which there is formed a communication aperture which connects the primary side opening and the secondary-side opening and a side aperture which, consequent to its rotation, connects the air exhaust aperture and either the primary-side or secondary-side opening. There is formed in the main body's air exhaust aperture a pipe connection to which is be connected a restrictor. In another embodiment a extension pipe is connected to such pipe connection in such air exhaust aperture. Such pipe extension forms a bend portion which causes its opening surface to be positioned lower than a generally horizontal direction when, in accordance with the state in which the main body is fitted to a railway vehicle, its air exhaust aperture is positioned upwardly from such horizontal direction.

Ball cock for railway vehicle

The present invention provides a ball cock for a railway vehicle which comprises a main body possessing a primary-side opening and a secondary-side opening which face one another and an air exhaust aperture which is formed between these openings. Such ball cock further incudes a ball-shaped valve body which is rotatably provided inside such main body and in which there is formed a communication aperture which connects the primary side opening and the secondary-side opening and a side aperture which, consequent to its rotation, connects the air exhaust aperture and either the primary-side or secondary-side opening. There is formed in the main body's air exhaust aperture a pipe connection to which can be connected a restrictor. In another embodiment an extension pipe is connected to such pipe connection in such air exhaust aperture. Such pipe extension forms a bend portion which causes its opening surface to be positioned lower than a generally horizontal direction when, in accordance with the state in which the main body is fitted to a railway vehicle, its air exhaust aperture is positioned upwardly from such horizontal direction.

A fluid pressure control device having a 3-position solenoid valve which is controlled to switch between a supply position, an overlapping position, and an exhaust position, using a drive command value corresponding to a pressure command signal. It also has a drive command setting unit which computes a drive command value for driving the 3-position solenoid valve into a predetermined position, in order to make the pressure command signal and a feedback signal of the output pressure of the 3-position solenoid valve coincide and a compensating value setting unit which computes a compensating value to be added to or subtracted from the above-mentioned drive command value, in accordance with the pressure differential between the above-mentioned pressure command signal and feedback signal, and the proportion of change in the feedback signal. The fluid pressure control device further has an addition and subtraction processing unit which computes a compensation amount by integrating the compensating value output from the compensating value setting unit when the drive command value has strayed from the overlapping command value corresponding to the overlapping position of the 3-position solenoid valve, and adds or subtracts the above-mentioned compensation amount to or from the drive command value, in the direction departing from the above-mentioned overlapping position, so as to output a new drive command value to the 3-position solenoid valve.

Fluid pressure control device

The invention is one which provides in a brake device possessing an energy production unit, a force transmission unit which receives the drive force of the energy production unit and produces outputs by advancing and retreating, and a clutch unit which is provided between the energy production unit and the force transmission unit and maintains the advance and retreat positions of the energy force unit when outputs are produced, a guide structure which allows displacement of the force transmission unit and of the brake shoe in an advance and retreat direction relative to the force transmission unit. A buffer unit is provided in the guide structure which urges the force transmission unit and the brake shoe in separate directions and which, on transmission of a reaction force greater than the maximum output of the force transmission unit, allows the brake shoe to move in the advance and retreat directions.

Brake device

Three-position solenoid valve which outputs an output pressure and can adopt exhaust, overlapping and supply positions. The output pressure is detected by an output pressure sensor and is fed back to a fuzzy control unit. Based on the difference between the output pressure and the command pressure corresponding to the pressure command signal from the brake control unit, such fuzzy control unit calculates a command current value for controlling the three-position solenoid valve by fuzzy reasoning. The command current value can adopt an essentially continuous value, and consequently the three-position solenoid valve can adopt a gentle exhaust state or a gentle supply state. In this way, sudden changes in the output pressure can be suppressed and the output pressure can be made to converge rapidly on the command pressure and eliminate overshoot and undershoot.

Solenoid valve control device

A three-position solenoid valve that can be used as a normally open type that can prevent reduction of responsivity due to the working pressure acting on a guide cylinder. When the solenoid is demagnetized, it is made to adopt a connecting position and since the working pressure does not act on the guide cylinder that guides the sliding of the moving iron core of the solenoid in this connecting position, it is possible to prevent deformation of the guide cylinder by the working pressure, which would reduce the responsivity of the solenoid valve and reduce the longevity of the solenoid by having the working pressure acting on it for long periods. Thus, it is possible to provide a valve that is suitable for use as a normally open three-position solenoid valve.

Three-position solenoid valve

A brake device equipped with an actuator having a power-transmission member generating a pushing force by receiving a drive force so as to advance. A pressure-detection device is provided for detecting the reaction pressure being applied to the power-transmission member and a clearance controller is provided for making the power-transmission member perform a return stroke. A brake shoe is attached to the power-transmission member and generates a braking force on the wheel tread surface. Such clearance controller is provided with a stroke memory unit which detects when the pressure signal from the pressure-detection device has reached a reference value when the pushing force of the power-transmission member is output and memorizes the stroke position of the power-transmission member as the reference stroke position. A computational processor determines the return stroke position by which the power-transmission member is separated from the wheel tread surface and the clearance stroke fraction established in advance using the reference stroke position, when the pushing force is released.

Brake having a pressure responsive slack adjuster

A mechanism for the attachment of a speed sensor to a vehicle comprising a rotary body for attachment to an end of a wheel axle such that the rotary body rotates with the wheel axle, the rotary body having an outer peripheral surface, the outer peripheral surface having a gear wheel with teeth; a sensor mounting body within which the rotary body rotates by means of a bearing therebetween; a speed sensor attached to the sensor mounting body and aligned opposite to the gear wheel with teeth of the rotary body, the bearing maintaining a predetermined gap between the speed sensor and the gear wheel with teeth, the teeth providing the change in magnetic field sensed by the speed sensor when the rotary body is rotating with the wheel axle so that the speed sensor generates a signal corresponding to the rotational speed of the wheel axle; and a connection link through which the sensor mounting body is connected to a frame of the vehicle.

Mechanism for the attachment of a speed sensor to a train wheel

A tube seat installation device having a piping connecting part of a special coupling joint being attached on one side of the input piping opening or the output piping opening of the fluid pressure valve while at the same time having a cylindrical part of the special coupling joint fitted into a connecting hole of the tube seat via an O-ring sealing element. The piping connecting part of the special coupling joint is attached to the other side of an outlet piping opening or an inlet piping opening. The cylindrical part is fitted into the introduction part of the hollow body via an O-ring sealing element, or the introduction part of the hollow body is attached to the piping opening via an O-ring sealing element. A flange part of this hollow body is faced and fixed to another connecting hole of the tube seat via O-ring sealing element to which a fluid pressure valve is fixed by being sandwiched by the hollow body. A fluid path runs in the vicinity of the fluid pressure valve through a passageway so that it becomes possible to accommodate the flanges of different types which can be installed on a tube seat simply by using standard and inexpensive fluid pressure valves which have a piping opening fitted for a screw thread connection, and which can be mass-produced as a standard product.

Mounting arrangement for connecting a fluid pressure valve to a pipe

A spring brake assembly having a body portion in which a piston is mounted for reciprocal movement. A piston guide means engages a stem portion of the piston and an end of the body portion. A brake spring is caged between an inner surface of a face portion of the piston and an end of the body portion. Engageable at one end thereof with the stem portion of the piston is a pushrod which also extends coaxially out of the end of the body portion. A clutch including control and operating devices is provided.

Spring brake cylinder

A sensing means is provided to indicate an operating condition of a spring brake cylinder assembly in which such operating condition may be one of a brake applied and a brake release position. The sensing means engages a clutch control mechanism which includes means to engage the sensing means at different locations to make a determination of such operating condition.

A spring brake cylinder assembly in which a pushrod connectable to a brake assembly is extendable from an end of such cylinder housing the piston member. The spring brake cylinder further includes a clutch release mechanism for manually releasing the brake force being applied.

A spring brake cylinder assembly having a spring-biased piston positioned therein. A pushrod is engaged with the piston through a clutch, which clutch includes both a clutch control device and a clutch operating mechanism that can manually release a brake application being applied by the assembly.

This invention relates to a novel electronic system for controlling a twin-type of air dryer arrangement. Normally, the adsorption elements (DR1) and (DR2) change over their adsorptive and regenerative cycles alternately by an 'ON' signal produced by a governor (GO). In addition, in case that the compressor works continuously for a long period of time, the adsorptive and regenerative cycles are changed over whenever a predeterined time elapses. Thus, it is possible to make the entire air dryer more compact, to have less changeover operation and to use the relevant devices for much longer time.
