A silver halide photographic material having at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer coated on a support, wherein the silver halide emulsion layer contains silver chlorobromide grains comprising silver chlorobromide containing 90 mol % or more of silver chloride, having at least one region in which the silver bromide content is high at the vicinity of the corner of the grains, and with not more than 15 mol % of average silver bromide content at the surface of the grains. A method producing the silver halide photographic materials is also disclosed.

Silver halide photographic materials and method producing thereof

The present invention provides a new image forming method. The image forming method uses a light-sensitive material. The light-sensitive material comprises a support and a light-sensitive polymerizable layer. The light-sensitive polymerizable layer contains silver halide, a reducing agent and an ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable compound or a cross-linkable polymer. Any of the silver halide, the reducing agent, the polymerizable compound and the polymer are not encapsulated in the layer. The image forming method comprising the steps of imagewise exposing to light the light-sensitive material and simultaneously or thereafter heating the light-sensitive material at a temperature of not lower than 70.degree. C. At the heat development, the silver halide is developed and the polymerizable compound or the cross-linkable polymer is hardened. Thus, a hardened image is formed on the light-sensitive material. The heat development is conducted while covering a surface of the light-sensitive polymerizable layer with a sheet or a heating means. According to the present invention, a space of 0.5 to 500 .mu.m intervenes between the surface of the light-sensitive polymerizable layer and the surface of the sheet or the heating means.

A method of forming images by silver salt diffusion transfer in which a photosensitive element which contains an imagewise exposed photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer is developed in the presence of a silver halide solvent using an alkaline processing composition, wherein at least part of the unexposed silver halide of the emulsion layer is formed into a transferable silver complex salt, at least part of the transferable silver complex salt is transferred to an image receiving layer to yield an image in the image receiving layer, wherein non-photosensitive silver precipitation nuclei are included in the photosensitive element. It is possible to obtain images without metallic luster in a stable manner.

Silver halide color photographic light-sensitive materials

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support base having thereon a silver halide emulsion layer and a cyan dye forming coupler. The coupler is a compound represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein the substituents in the general formula (I) are as defined in the specification. The coupler has good solubility in an organic solvent having a high boiling point and a high dye forming rate even in a color developing solution which does not contain benzyl alcohol. Further, the coupler provides a cyan color image having a high maximum density and excellent fastness to light. Decreasing in optical density of the cyan color image is not substantially observed even when the color photographic light-sensitive material is processed with a bleaching solution which has a weak oxidation power or a bleaching solution which is exhausted.

Silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material

A silver halide color photographic emulsion is described, containing at least one sensitizing dye represented by formula (I) and at least one compound represented by formula (II). The use of compounds of formula (I) in combination with compounds of formula (II) permits the spectral sensitization of photographic emulsions without extending the wavelength region of spectral sensitivity, enabling the production of a light-sensitive material of high sensitivity and reduced fog. ##STR1## (The symbols V, W.sub.1, W.sub.2, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, X, n, R.sub.5, Y, X.sub.1, m.sub.1 and m.sub.2 are as defined in the appended claims).

A silver halide photographic emulsion is described containing in combination at least one sensitizing dye represented by formula (I) and at least one cyan coupler represented by formula (II): ##STR1## wherein all the symbols are defined in the specification.
