The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a procatalyst suitable for preparing a catalyst composition for olefin polymerization, said process comprising the steps of: Step A) providing or preparing a Grignard compound; Step B) contacting the Grignard compound an alkoxy- or aryloxy silane compound, to give a solid support; Step C) optionally contacting the solid support obtained with at least one activating compound; and Step D) reacting the (activated) support with a halogen-containing Ti-compound as catalytic species, an activator and at least one internal electron donor in several sub steps wherein the internal donor is added in portions during at least two of said stages to obtain a procatalyst. The invention moreover relates to a procatalyst, a catalytic system comprising said procatalyst and to a process to prepare polyolefins using said catalyst system and the polyolefins obtained therewith.

Process to prepare procatalyst for polymerization of olefins

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a procatalyst suitable for preparing a catalyst composition for olefin polymerization, said process comprising the steps of: Step A) providing or preparing a Grignard compound; Step B) contacting the Grignard compound with a silane compound to give a first intermediate reaction product being a solid support; Step C) activating said solid support, comprising two sub steps: Step C1) contacting the solid support obtained in step B) with at least one first activating compound and a second activating compound; and Step C2) a second activation step by contacting the activated solid support obtained in step C1) with an activating electron donor; to obtain a second intermediate reaction product; Step D) reacting the second intermediate reaction product obtained in step C) with a halogen-containing Ti-compound, optionally an activator and at least one internal electron donor in several sub steps to obtain said procatalyst. The invention moreover relates to a procatalyst, a catalytic system comprising said procatalyst and to a process to prepare polyolefins using said catalyst system and the polyolefins obtained therewith.

The present invention relates to a process for the continuous preparation of a polyolefin in a reactor from one or more &#x3b1;-olefin monomers of which at least one is ethylene or propylene, wherein the reactor comprises a fluidized bed, an expanded section located at or near the top of the reactor, a distribution plate located at the lower part of the reactor and an inlet for a recycle stream located under the distribution plate wherein the process comprises&#x2014;feeding a polymerization catalyst to the fluidized bed in the area above the distribution plate&#x2014;feeding the one or more &#x3b1;-olefin monomers to the reactor&#x2014;withdrawing the polyolefin from the reactor&#x2014;circulating fluids from the top of the reactor to the bottom of the reactor, wherein the circulating fluids are compressed using a compressor and subsequently cooled using a heat exchanger to form a cooled recycle stream comprising liquid, and wherein the cooled recycle stream is introduced into the reactor using the inlet for the recycle stream wherein a part of the cooled recycle stream is drawn to form a liquid comprising stream, wherein the liquid comprising stream is introduced into the expanded section during at least part of the polymerization process, and wherein the liquid comprising stream is brought into contact with at least part of the interior surface of the expanded section.

Process for the polymerization of olefins

The present invention relates to a process for the continuous preparation of polypropylene in a reactor from propylene and optionally ethylene and/or at least one other oolefin monomer, wherein the reactor comprises a fluidized bed, an expanded section located at or near the top of the reactor, a distribution plate located at the lower part of the reactor and an inlet for a recycle stream located under the distribution plate, wherein the process comprises&#x2014;feeding a polymerization catalyst to the fluidized bed in the area above the distribution plate&#x2014;feeding the propylene and the optional at least one other oolefin monomer to the reactor&#x2014;withdrawing the polypropylene from the reactor&#x2014;circulating fluids from the top of the reactor to the bottom of the reactor, wherein the circulating fluids are compressed using a compressor and cooled using a heat exchanger, resulting in a cooled recycle stream comprising liquid, and wherein the cooled recycle stream is introduced into the reactor using the inlet for the recycle stream wherein an alkane chosen from the group of iso-butane, n-butane, cyclopropane and mixtures thereof is added to the reactor and wherein the molar composition of the components in the recycle stream is chosen such that the dew temperature of the recycle stream at the reactor pressure is at least 0.10&#xb0; C. below the temperature of the reactor.

The present invention relates to a procatalyst comprising the compound represented by formula A as an internal electron donor, wherein: R, R, R, R, R, and Rare the same or different and are independently selected from a group consisting of hydrogen or a straight, branched and cyclic hydrocarbyl group, selected from alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl or alkylaryl groups, and one or more combinations thereof, preferably having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; Ris a hydrogen or a linear, branched or cyclic hydrocarbyl group, selected from alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkoxycarbonyl or alkylaryl groups, and one or more combinations thereof, preferably having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms; and each Rgroup is independently a linear, branched or cyclic hydrocarbyl group selected from alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, or alkylaryl groups, and one or more combinations thereof, preferably having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms; N is nitrogen atom; O is oxygen atom; and C is carbon atom. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing said polymerization procatalyst and to a polymerization catalyst system comprising said procatalyst, a cocatalyst and optionally an external electron donor. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a polyolefin obtainable by the process according to the present invention and to the use of the compound of formula A as in internal electron donor in catalysts for polymerization of olefins.
